Traditional Small Wooden Moon Cake Mold/Cookies Mold/Springerle Mold/Biscuit Mold, Butterfly Shape

I bought 2 different patterns of mold earlier and loved them. They made beautiful mooncake pastry. This is a 3rd purchase but unfortunately I received a defect item. I contact the vendor, they responded promptly and sent me a replacement when they have new stock in store.Beautiful mold, great customer service.

This item (yes, just one mold with fish on it, not the six as the picture shows) arrived at my mailbox a lot faster than I expected. It was shipped in a bubble envolope and it came out new and clean. I do not see any issue with the mold. Unlike one gentlement mentiont that cracks and splinter was found all over his mold, mine is indeed smooth and no crack at all.It needs some effort and skill to take the cookie dough out as the fish scale is small and it is hard to take the whole thing out without breaking the whole dough. This is the nature of using a cookie mold. I brushed flour in the mold and the dough came out easier. I used it to bake chocalate cookie for Chinese New Year and the kids just love it. The dough needs to be a little hard to work better with the dough.I normally do not write a review but I feel like my experience might help others this time.

To be honest, I haven't yet gotten around to actually using them to shape cookies but will report when I do so. Until that time, they are doing double duty by serving as wall decorations and very attractive they are. There are a couple of other molds that I also plan to purchase when I next buy something from this seller. Be aware that they are not finely finished, carving wise, and they are raw wood, not oiled or stained. That is fair enough, considering the price. It also allows the buyer to do what they will, depending on the final use.

Very pleased with my mold. I did oil it because the wood seemed a little dry and I want it to last.

The mold looks great at 1st sight... however, up on close inspection. It's not. I gave it 3 stars simply because it is rather beautiful. If I rated based on usability, it would have recvd a 1 star.As a chef, I purchased this for the Chinese New Year special. I purchased 2 different molds from the company, TWO molds, ONE address, however, it was shipped separately & I was charge the shipping TWICE. Yeah, GREAT! I know! It arrives quickly (thank you) which is very nice. However, being a wooden mold, it arrived in a plastic shipping bag WITHOUT any additional bubble wrapping (now I understand why some ppl complaint it arrived damaged). It looks great at the 1st look, however, it is not useable as-is. See, it is NOT exactly food safe!! You can see cracks & splinter all over the mold. In order to use this, I have to take a super fine sand paper & go over everything cutting slowly to make sure I had moved possible foreign objects and may end up in food. However, after a quick sand down, it revealed even more crack & mis-carving in the mold. So, as nice looking as is... I am not sure I can use for what I intended to!! For an $13 (shipped) item, I will expect to be better.

These wooden molds are new and not old wood collectors items but that does not matter as I plan to use them to make Kashigata - Japanese sugar cookies. They look perfect for this type cookie of moon cakes.

THE PICTURE HAS 6, I ONLY GOT 1, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE , JUST TELL THE PEOPLE THEY ARE ONLY GETTING 1 , NOT 6. so they can save there money , stupid as-holes

Very fun mold. I hope to use it for clay projects. It is a little rough on the surface, but that does not retract from working with it.
