Correct. Not a gel. It is the white soft spread.

My current one expired last month. I buy three at a time and the next one I will use expires in Dec 2019. And, I would always use what I had despite the expiration date.

Will this still work if I apply it after showering in the morning?

This deodorant works if you apply it after you've dried yourself off after showering in the morning. It works if you shower and dry yourself any time of day. It works even if you don't shower.

Does it leave white marks on clothes?

No. It goes on clear. Course I always let it dry before I ever put my clothes on. But I have found no problem, except that it's very hard to turn the bottom to get it to roll up. They need to fix that.
