Best stairs I've tried yet!!!
This is the 3rd different type of dog stairs I have purchased. These are perfect for furniture that is sofa height or just a bit taller. I use them w/the sofa because I have hard surface flooring and my female dog does not like jumping up on the sofa from the slippery floors. I have a high bed, so they do not work very well w/it because I have a timid dog, but it may work for others to use at the bed. Yes, the base of these steps is cardboard that is glued together, but I recommend these over the soft/springy foam stairs. As a human, is it comfortable to you to walk on a bed or soft springy surface? No, it doesn't feel safe or secure, so why would your dog want to go up springy/soft steps!?! Because these steps are made of glued cardboard they are sturdy but light for easy moving. The cover is removable so that you can wash it. My female dog likes these much better than the plastic stairs that just have a little carpet piece on the stair because they are completely covered w/the soft fabric. She isn't afraid of slipping on the plastic like w/our other stairs. The base of the cover does have a textured surface, but I found that I had to use a anti-slip rug backer under it on my laminate wood floors so that it doesn't move when the dogs go up and down.Getting my male dog to go up and down was no issue, my female however took about a week before she would consistently use them. If your dog doesn't like them at first, keep training, reward for when they do go up the stairs and don't pick them up to go around them. If my female didn't want to go up the stairs, then she wasn't coming up on the couch! Once she realized that she quickly found out how to make use of them.Overall these are the best dog stairs I have purchased and I will be buying another set for another area of the house!

Pup Is Strolling Them Up and Down Like a Beauty Pageant Contender
Look, if you don't think of your dogs as family, then just skip this product review. Of course, if you're pondering buying steps for a dog, then you are likely a dog lover, anyway, so that may be a needless warning. What's the warning? I write this review with a bias. Big one. I admit it.My dogs are beloved. Not spoiled, but I may be pushing the edge of the envelope there. I'm very picky about all things Dog. Which is how I came to buy these stairs.Having already lost one canine friend to old age and liver cancer, I'm all too aware these days that my pups are getting older. The grey on the oldest one's snout makes me sad: not that he cares, it just means one more treat for him whenever I notice the ever-increasing grey and white fur. However, couple of months ago, I really starting thinking about the baby pup. She makes a heroic effort every evening to jump up on the bed, but with her little legs it's quite the feat. I realize that as she gets older, this is going to become a problem. I've also been wondering how good it was now, for her to jump up as high as she is long. It's very impressive, but probably not too good for those hip joints and things. Then, I noticed she was taking a bit of time before that jump - evaluating it. Something she never used to do. Was it painful for her to leap? Was she feeling stiff? So, I hit the web to research the best way to help her out. Stairs vs. ramp. Decided to start out with stairs. Next question: what size of stairs, what number of stairs. Carpeted? Wooden? Foldable? After lots more time than I'd like to admit, I decided on the Brinkmann Pet Deluxe Pet Steps - 3 Step. It was a great decision.1. The steps have a handle, so you can easily tote them - use them for the car, the bed, etc.2. They are a good size for the dog, not too big (or too high) a step for little legs to take.3. They don't take up too much floorspace.4. They are lightweight, but still sturdy enough that the dogs trust them to hold their weight. The first night after the Brinkman Pet Steps arrived, my pup was going up and down that staircase like a beauty pageant contender. No learning curve here, though the bits of bacon on the steps for the first couple of rounds might have been a big help. The pups think they're fun, and I've got the reassurance that if the little one was feeling some angst about reaching middle age and facing that huge leap to get on the bed, well - that's gone. In the years ahead, I'm comforted to know that we have already got the Brickman Steps in place, training done, before arthitis or hip issues or other old age problems develop.I highly recommend this product.- Reba Kennedy

Great for small dogs!
If you have small dogs (< 35 pounds) that could use a little boost to get on the couch or bed, look no further than these steps. They're surprisingly lightweight, yet sturdy enough for your pups' steps, and come in one piece that's easy to move around the house.I think these steps work best when the side closest to the top step has something to push up against - like a bedframe or edge of a couch vs. just having them sit randomly in space. While the flipping risk is minimal, that would make me feel a little more secure about having the dogs use these at top speed without worrying about the stairs sliding or falling somehow. If your dogs are bigger or really tall, I might look elsewhere. The steps aren't very "deep," so dogs with larger paws or really long legs might have a harder time negotiating these steps. We have a 10 pound poodle and 20-ish pound schnauzer that use these steps to hop up to and down from the couch on a regular basis. We've had our first step of steps for three years and they're still in great shape. We've never washed the outer cover of the steps and they still look and smell fine. We were so happy with the first set that we got a second set for the bedroom as well. While our poodle can jump up on the bed and couch no problem, we felt safer about getting the stairs for our vertical leap-challenged schnauzer so he wouldn't have risk his life every time he tried to jump up on the couch or bed.Like any new apparatus, it might take some time for your dogs to warm up to the steps. One of our dogs uses the steps exclusively to get up and down from the couch, while our other dog only uses them when he wants to make a dramatic leaping entrance into the couch. We had to do a little minor training to introduce both of them to the steps, but now that they're in a consistent spot, they know they're there if they need them.Tip: Try to keep the stairs in one spot so the dogs know that they're always going to be there. When we were training the dogs to use the steps, we found that they would sometimes take huge steps back if we moved the stairs. The dogs seemed more confident in the stairs when they felt like they were a permanent fixture, instead of something that might slide out from underneath them.

This is awesome!
The fabric is soft and the stairs in general are of much better quality than other sets I've used in the past.I was expecting to have to put it together and was nervous about it because it looked like it had a million little pieces and I'm terrible at putting things together.. but it came already set up, so all I had to do was figure out what spot around the bed was the best :)

Perfect for my old boys
The media could not be loaded. This is great. My wiener dogs are 14yo and I just got a new bed which is impossible for them to get on and I was afraid they would jump off.I love these stairs because they’re not massive like the plastic or wood ones and I love that they are grey instead of all the beige and brown ones I saw. They were afraid to use them when I just got them. It took about 2 weeks for the boys to get comfortable but now, they go up and down the bed as they please safely :)

Algo inestable
Muy útil, al principio a mi pomerania le daba miedo pero poco a poco fue aprendiendo, aunque creo que necesito ponerle algo para que no se mueva ya que eso le da un poco de inseguridad a los peritos porque es muy ligera

Excellent Quality
I bought these steps to help my ageing Burmese get on and off my lap as I am sitting in my chair. Her mobility has been decreasing recently and she was finding it difficult to not be with me. Now, the most loving kitty in the world has her autonomy back and can easily navigate up and down these well-made steps! These are solid construction, I have already removed the cover to make sure it will be easy to look after and even that has exceeded my expectations. The non-slip pads on the bottom are working great even with my slippery hardwood floor! The above is a picture of my kitty, moments after I set the steps down. Let SNUGGLE TIME resume!
