works better than I thought it would.
Purchased this trolling motor for the sevylor/coleman inflatable fishing kayak. Mounted perfectly to the attachment points of the boat and really pushes the kayak along well on high setting. I would guess 3-4 mph. faster than my wife and I can paddle. The attached battery wires are long enough for most applications and the alligator clips hold pretty well. I will be changing them to bolt on just because but not a big deal. If I have one concern it would be the prop. Its very small and very thin. I feel if it hits anything other than sand or weeds it will break. Other than that We've used it several times and runs great. For anyone who needs to calculate run times. The motor draws 8 amps per hour on high and 4 amps per hour on low speed. We have a 35Mah deep cycle and easily can get 3 plus hours with room to spare.

For the price you can't beat it.
For the price this is a great little motor for a kayak if you have the ability to build a custom mount. Mounted on the rear of a Hobie PA 14 to help when my legs get tired. I use it sparingly to reserve battery on a 35 ah battery. So far I have used it on all day outings in the inlet to the Atlantic ocean at Oak Island NC. It is a blessing when fighting the current and wind. Threw away the flimsy mount that comes with it and built a custom rear mount with a tilt up feature for shallow water. The replacement props are hard to find and believe me, oyster shells will really give them a beating. Am looking to buy a second as a backup since they are not salt water rated. 18lb thrust on a PA 14 kayak will give you about 3 mph with no current or wind. I use it while kicking as an assist when in current or wind and by itself when my legs get tired.
