For $29 it’s a great starter Dutch oven!
Not seasoned, but I knew that in advance, just wanted one for fun to try a few things so I expected to put some work into seasoning it. Got it on Prime day. I’m shocked how heavy and nice quality it appears to be. If you’re looking for an ultra high quality professional product you need to increase your budget. Expecting high end for $29 is unrealistic and those reviews are always irritating to weed through for relevant information. For me, I’m thrilled with it, better than expected. Size is perfect for small to medium dishes. Shown next to common item for size reference. Looking forward to some fun trying it out. Great deal.

Love it!
We frequently cook cobbler over an open campfire and it works really well. Just a couple of cans of pie filling, a dry cake mix, a stick of butter cut into patties, put over the coals for 20-30 minutes until the cake looks slightly browned. Delicious! TIP: Coat the outside and bottom with Dawn dish soap just before putting in the fire-it makes it a breeze to clean off the soot after the cobbler is gone.

Heavy Duty
Heavy duty construction. Plenty big to cook for a family six. The legs work well for cooking over an open fire/coals. Only drawback is those same legs don't work as well in an indoor oven.

Absolutely Wonderful Product
This is now my #2 favorite camping supply (just below my stainless steel French press) Absolutely wonderful! First trip out with it and I was able to make fluffy Rice, boil potatoes, pop popcorn, make Cheese Dip, even flip pancakes and bake calzones in it! An absolute game changer for meals in the woods! The swinging handle works great with a Tripod (if hanging above a fire) and the legs + ridged lid work great for covering in coals for baking. Do be sure to follow the instructions for seasoning it though as it does NOT come pre-seasoned.

10" oven, perfect for 4-6 servings
I've fried, baked, and stewed over charcoal in this Dutch oven. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. It heats evenly and the lid fits snugly. The legs and handle are sturdy. This item is listed as a 4-quart oven, and that was a bit confusing since most are listed by diameter. Based on the product size description (12x13x8") I assumed this was a 12-inch oven. It is not. It is actually more like 10". For making stew, this didn't matter a bit. However, when I tried to fry & bake an egg casserole which called for a 12" oven, the reduced surface area did affect the cooking time. Compared to the 12" ovens other were using, this oven seemed about 2" deeper than the others. This oven is perfect for recipes serving 4-6. An excellent value when paired with Amazon Prime's free shipping.

Bargain Price for a QUALITY Dutchie!
This Dutch oven far exceeded my expectations. If you've never seasoned new cast iron it does involve some work, but even the "bigger" brands recommend additional seasoning before using the pre-seasoned ovens, so for this price it's a real winner. Use an oil with a high smoke point (extra light olive oil is good) and do it properly and you'll have no problem. Whatever oil you decide to use, a lot of people will tell you that certain oils will go rancid and to avoid them - that only applies to the oil itself, after the oil is seasoned properly, rancidity is a non-issue. Not sure why one reviewer said it was a bit "rough" - it needs to be to absorb the oil properly. After seasoning it will be slick as a whistle. Made BBQ rub chicken breast as first recipe, oven performed flawlessly, and cleaned up perfectly after cooling down. Next morning made some homemade bread (all of this at the campsite) and it didn't stick AT ALL, nor did it taste like BBQ chicken. I would definitely recommend this oven to others!

A witch's Cauldron
We use this as our coven cauldron and it work's beautifully. Any pagan out there knows a heavy cast iron cauldron will run upwards of a few hundred dollars, just because it's labelled as a pagan cauldron ... such a rip off really LOL I came to amazon looking for a dutch oven to get a cauldron cheaper and here this was! We burn a very hot mix of potpouri and wax in our cauldron for fire rituals and cleansings and this thing is standing up to quite the beating from us. Good sturdy product and a good price for one!

This is one of my favorite cooking tools
This is one of my favorite cooking tools. We use it with charcoal and also on our camp chef camp stove. Great quality. I prefer this one with legs- not a feature I would have thought of when purchasing, but glad I chose it. I like the size which works well for our family of 4. When cooking soups or for a larger group, it would be nice to have the 6-8 quart. I'm saving my $ for a second Dutch oven, so I can cook our main meal and dessert at the same time. The 4 qt works awesomely for peach cobbler or Apple crisp. Happy cooking!
