Manga Monster Madness: Over 50 Basic Lessons for Drawing Mutants, Robots, Dragons and More

A good book to look at, but the tutorials are difficult for beginners. It does not have step-by-step instructions on how to draw.

I choose this book for my son..who loves drawing and plans on going art school..He loved te book and the details in the artwork..would purchase from you again in future

Book was brand new, looks like it has never been touched.

I bought Manga Fantasy Madness for my 12 year old daughter and she really likes the book. So, I bought her Manga Monster Madness as well. Myabe I am judging this book a little to harshly, after all it is for beginners and definatly has some good stuff for artist that just starting out. The ten drawing tips are good, so are the shading tips. If my kid needs help with color she can learn a little about it here. Once again Mr. Okum starts his drawing examples with basic stick figures then builds up the manaquin. There are lots of examples to to learn from too. The problem I have with the book is that it's very much like the Manga Fantasy book from the same author. Why spend your money on this book when Manga Fantasy Madness has alot of the same basic stuff?

Absolute garbage. I wouldn't give this to a 10 year old. It teaches absolutely nothing important nor useful.

Enjoyed the layout and material. Feel it would be good for anyone who is tired of the how to books that never get to the point.

Eigentlich eine gute Idee, wenn man Kindern und Jugendlichen kreatives Zeichnen näher bringt, indem man ihnen zeigt, wie man Monster, Drachen, Roboter, Feen und Manga-Figuren erstellt. Für die junge Zielgruppe ist das Buch auch schon bunt und ansprechend gestaltet. Das Problem des Buches ist, dass es zwar einerseits bei den allereinfachsten Grundlagen beginnt (etwa, wenn es den Unterschied zwischen den Stiften und grundlegende Farbharmonie erklärt), andererseits aber viele Beispielfiguren (wie z.B. ein Werwolf) sehr komplex sind und Anfänger dafür zu wenig angeleitet werden. Die versprochene Step-By-Step-Anleitung besteht pro Figur immer nur aus 3 bis maximal 5 Schritten!Anstatt 50 Figuren mit nur ein paar Schritten, hätte man vielleicht lieber weniger Figuren mit mehr anleitenden Zwischenschritten abbilden sollen. Wer Figuren von der ersten Skizze bis zum fertigen Bild in nur 3 Schritten abzeichnen kann, hätte das wohl auch nur mit dem fertigen Bild schaffen können, indem er es einfach so abzeichnet, wie es abgebildet ist. Jugendliche, die schon etwas Erfahrung beim Zeichnen oder genügend Talent haben, können mit dem Buch also Spaß haben, blutige Anfänger dürften damit überfordert sein.
