Good at first, then a pile of trash
Initially this product seemed really cool, and was simple to set up. But the longer we had it the worse it got. Filament breaks off ALL THE TIME inside of the extruder and it was a pain to remove the 6 screws over and over again to open it up and clear it out. Then the extruder smashed itself into a print and filled the whole extruder compartment with filament. I had to use a heat gun and spent 3 hours peeling the melted filament blob off. It still worked after that. The last straw was when we used up the included roll of filament and went to add a new reel. Bought XYZ filament, but it didn't come FROM XYZ with the chip needed to make it read what the filament was. Not a big deal right? It's 'open filament' so I can just put it in as a 3rd party filament and go. NOPE. DOES NOT WORK. Won't let you print AT ALL if it is selected as 3rd party.Complete waste of time, there are much better printers out there for less or just slightly more money. Won't buy another xyz printing product.

It was bigger than I thought it would be, but that's not a bad thing.
The unit arrived today. Amazing packing on it. I don't think hurricane force winds could move anything in this box. Everything mentioned in the listing is included in the box. Tools, sample spool, cd card, the works. This is the first da Vinci 3d Printer to allow the use of "open filament" - in other words, anybody else's filament can be used in their system. What they fail to tell you is you have to load everybody else's filament thru the back of the printer, and there is nothing to mount that spool on. Guess I know what I'll be printing fairly soon. ;-)It's about 17" deep, 15" wide and about 15" tall, so you'll need about the same amount of space a MFP printer would take up.The enclosure provides a little bit of noise reduction, but not to the extent that makes it a truly functional solution. It's more for looks. Which is fine, because it looks great.I liked the auto calibration and auto leveling features. That beats having to adjust the print bed by hand every time.I had it set up and printing the sample in about 15 minutes.

Not User Friendly
Updated 6/23/2018: I have run about 15 spools of filament through this thing and roughly 13 of them have involved a serious jam which required 1+ hour to fix. I just don't understand the design of this machine. It's as if it was build to deliberately make clearing jams as frustrating as possible. I have changed my 2 stars to 1star because i'm ready to sell this thing for $50 and buy the machine I should have spent the extra money on in the first place and saved myself the frustration.Original Review:The quality of prints is not great, no matter how much I tinker with settings. The XYZ printing software is not user friendly and doesn't have dynamic supports like FlashPrintClearing the extruder head of jammed filament has become a time sink. The only way I have been able to avoid it is to be in the room to replace filament as it runs out, feeding in the new stuff as the print runs to avoid having to deal with an inevitable jam should I try to unload/load filament properly.

When this printer works, it works great. The problem I had was that in the last month, every time I print a part it says filament jam in the exact same location on the part. Without fail if I restart it happens on the next part in the exact same location. It prints the base and as soon as it completes it says filament jam. I had the gears cleaned at least 10 times and it still does it in the exact same place. It is a false alarm. You can watch the filament moving into the extruder and coming out the nozzle when the alarm pops up.The frustrating part is that the XYZ support says to clean the gears again and they will not believe you so they want to do a Webex. It took 4 days to even get a response from them then they tell me to try everything I told them that I had already done. I even thought I would just buy a new Extruder but their support would not give me a part number and I can not find it online. I finally gave up and purchased a Qidi printer. I am very happy with the Qidi, it works well and the filament doesn't alarm and ruin parts and filament.

Great second/backup printer for a small business, or first printer for a novice!
So I was totes dubious about this printer but decided to give it a chance. Our company's main 3DP is in a busy area and in pretty heavy use. Plus, its workflow depends on SolidWorks, which I need to bug our CAD guy to use - so at this price, why not buy a secondary printer for scratchy prototyping? Done. The software setup is super bush-league, annoyingly kludgy but do-able. Using the default tape base, I printed a small test model that almost immediately began sliding around, ruining the print. Tried it again, with the same result. Some reviewers use glue sticks to get around this, so OK. With an Uhu stick application to the base tape, the model stayed right in place. Then came the time to remove it. NO WAY. It behaved as if welded to the base with vanadium bolts. Finally tore off the tape after removing the base, and just barely managed to separate the model, leaving the tape useless. Finally recalled a reviewer (thank you!) recommending blue 3M masking tape. It works perfectly - no sliding, yet quick and easy detachment of the printed object with no damage to the tape.So far, several builds in, the little printer has worked flawlessly at its default settings. The quality is just fine for most rough prototyping and let's-try-this applications, and it's unfussy about the .stl source - it works with everything from SolidWorks (our CAD guy can't believe what you can get for $300 these days) to TinkerCad for simple things. And, ya gotta love the auto-calibration.I'll edit this review if things change, but right now, NO REGRETS - buy this machine if you're willing to do a bit of experimenting with tapes and hold-downs. If you're new to 3D printing, this is a great entry point - with the same caveat.

Good value for the money
Overall this 3d printer provides very good results. At times it clogs the PLA - will find out how long it lasts - we've been using it over the past few weeks with no major problems!

Not a Fan
My husband was stoked when this came in as he likes this kind of things and being able to create things and learn how the things work and was excited to see what he could do. From the get go its a bit of a frustration set up took some time and was a lot of reading and making sure it was all set up correctly as one little thing out of place sends non stop error codes that then you now have to try and trouble shoot. Once set up it worked ok for the first couple prints and my husband was impressed with his work but then it started throwing error codes when he tried to print the exact same thing that he did before but it was easy to fix once he found out what the error code was for it was a simple fix. then it would work again for a bit and again throw error codes. The software is good and easy to use as well the ability to use third party things is nice as you are not locked in to the one brand and type but he and I feel that may be the downfall with this as they seem to have just used cheap parts thinking and or knowing that you are just going to add or replace with another part. so lets save money on our part and push it out to the masses. Over all is ok when it works and the things it does is great but its a hassle when it goes down and you have to constantly fix it means it is more a dust collector then used to print and just takes up space.
