Very Helpful in Learning to Write APA formatted papers
This book is filled with everything from how to organize your paper. The various aspect of writing specifically for psychology includes examples on such things as abstract, intro, conclusion, and body as well as references are in a clear understandable way with example. Also is helpful in teaching one how to do online research in virtual libraries which I found really helpful as a returning student in a master's program in psychology. By the time I am done with my program I will have used everything covered in this book. Wonderful and up-to-date as of 2014. In compliance with 6th edition of the APA Publication manual.

Designed for those who hate research
I got to my MSc without knowing how to reference or format a table in traditional APA style and I dread to think how many marks I've lost as a result of it. I also hate research with a passion. This book solves that problem. Well, I still hate research but at least now I can write about it in a comprehensive and correct manner that makes it look like I DON'T hate research. If you're like me, you basically need a checklist of questions you can ask yourself throughout the writing process that make sure you've included everything you need to. This book does that. It doesn't provide an actual checklist but what it does do is provide you with the tools to write your own. I got it mainly for the methodology section but it takes you through each section of your these and gives you some really good tips that maybe you haven't thought about. It also makes sure you know WHY you're including pieces of information so that you understand you're own work and the process you went through to get there. And, best of all it doesn't bombard you with language that you have to decode before even beginning to think about what the book is trying to tell you. I don't want to sound like I'm gushing, but this book encompasses the whole point of education: to make sure you UNDERSTAND what you're doing. Too many 'How to write your thesis/dissertation/research project' books forget that a person is buying it because they're having trouble formatting or putting together a piece of work and therefore to fill the pages with complicated concepts and flowery language is defeating the object. How To books MUST be straightforward. I started my discussion section this morning and until I opened this book, I was dreading it. It's still going to be an all-nighter, but I don't feel like I'm going in blind. A very useful text that I wish I'd bought sooner.
