This second book in the Five Families series really ramps up the action. It brings all our RH characters together, watching them explore their new dynamic. There’s some open door spice but it’s not a super smutty read, and it’ll leave you on another cliffhanger just as one of Maddie’s men finds themselves in a dangerous situation.

This is heating up to be a great why choose mafia romance. I'm excited to see what happens. I like the character development of the brothers. There's still a side family story with her sister. No idea what's going to happen.

OMG that ending! My poor heart.I had it all planned out, a schedule so I could read Vicious Reign straight after this because I KNOW Penelope always leaves us on a cliff hanger, but I failed miserably. I inhaled this book and now I'm left aching for the final book and to find out what is going to happen!I cannot get enough of this world Penelope has created.Another non stop, fast paced, steamy read which I could not put down.We see the characters interacting a lot more, watching them develop, sorting out the dynamics etcI am so ready for more, bring it on!

This just keeps getting better and better. I'm loving this series so much. Maddie and her guys are everything i thought they would be and I'm so glad i can read the next book now. Amazing five star read that I couldn't put down.

Another great book, can't wait for the next one, hope they get to Leo in time ,so much unanswered questions trying to figure out, what's going to happen in the next book, then hopefully it will be Mary's books next

This book and the previous one dragged on incessantly and were incredibly predictable. I’m not going to waste my time reading a third book when this storyline could have been concluded in one book.

Penelope babe, you did not disappoint! Honestly, it was action-packed right from the start. If you have read Pen's work before you will know she writes slow burns. I'll be honest, the kind that will probably get you frustrated. because it sure had me frustrated.So prepare yourself for a good mafia romance, that it RH and definitely why choose? because Maddie made sure her guys knew she wouldn't do that. But also prepare yourself for a slow burn and Penelope being a bitch that just had to end things on a cliffhanger.But I'll forgive you. Because 𝑰 𝑵𝑬𝑬𝑫 𝑻𝑶 𝑲𝑵𝑶𝑾 𝑾𝑯𝑨𝑻 𝑯𝑨𝑷𝑷𝑬𝑵𝑺!* I received an 𝑨𝑹𝑪 for my honest opinion.

I did find this one a little slower than the first book but much more descriptive and even more spicy

I am missing all the words after this book. Truly the words are gone. I love Penelope Black and these characters that she has created. The depth to them and the building is amazing and honestly who doesn’t love a female character that knows what she wants and just lays it all out. Yet, if you know anything about these books you know the twists happen and this one is a doozy. There is no slowing down once the book starts and there is only the yelling of “seriously” with the cliffhanger. Is it worth it? Of-freaking-course!We pick up where Gilded Princess ended (nope not saying anything else, read the book people its worth your time!). Maddie needs saving and we have one of our boys needing some medical attention. Once we have Maddie where she needs to be and our guy is walking around everyone gets to the safehouse because no one is safe when there are guys wanting to take you out. The fun of the game is now Maddie is getting made aware of who Matteo really is. After the time they were together and then he had to break up with her to keep her safe, she never understood why. Maddie is getting a crash course and she isn’t backing down from the fight. Seems to remind me of a certain cousin of hers.I will never tire of hearing the nicknames each of the guys have for her. I can’t decide if Raven or Cherry is my favorite and funny the connection those two guys have that make me actually laugh at. To understand my love for this book, you need to read it first. To understand why I love Penelope and her writing, you need to start with Wolf’s book and appreciate the genius that it is. I will end with this quote from the book, Maddie is saying it and I think it sums up so much: “Then again, I’ve learned that almost nothing in life is a coincidence. You may not understand the reasoning right away but one day you will.”

This was a great edition to this series, packed full of action and moving at a swift pace.I really enjoyed this book, we see more of Raven and her hot AF mobster brothers.Thus book is writing in such a way that you are completely sucked into the story - I couldn’t put it down until the very last word.That cliff hanger ending sucked - I red to know what happens next.

The plot twist in these books keeps you intrigued. I would definitely recommend reading this one. It’s more anticipation than anything spicy.

Oh the steam and the drama was definitely here in this book. After the slow-ish start in book one this book dived right in and didn’t let up until the very end. I think the cliffhanger(s) in book one were worse than this one but this has me counting down for book 3.New players, new reveals and, not that I didn’t love Maddie and her guys, I feel like I really need a story about Blaire. I’m assuming Mary‘s series will be next but please please let there be a Blaire series or book or something.I like that this is more of slow to medium burn series. It makes sense for the story especially because it’s a slow/more natural relationship. There’s relationship, family and bigger drama so there is something for everyone.I’m interested to see where the next series goes and how it ties in with the other books. Especially if there will be a continuation or expansion of a big overarching plot.
