Works Great - Special Info for iPhone Users
I had been shopping off and on for around 6 months for a bluetooth audio receiver to connect Klipsh speakers to my iPhone 6. I bought the Etekcity Bluetooth 4.1 Receive Transmitter and it worked flawlessly as a receiver for the speakers. Then it got interesting. The speakers were playing low definition audio. The problem is the iPhone of course. The iPhone does not support Aptx, the high definition audio standard the vast majority of bluetooth devices support. So, I turned off bluetooth on my iPhone 6 and connected theEtekcity as a transmitter to the iPhone headphone jack. For the first time I listened to the most wonderful sound ever on my bluetooth headphones. Apple only supports their own HD audio standard which a lot of bluetooth headphones do not. Your heaphones revert to an old low definition audio standard with the iPhone. Getting a bluetooth transmitter was a bonus and now I can fix a great shortcoming on my iPhone. By the way, this Etekcity device is incredibly small and can be used while charging. I guess people need to worry about audio quality in Apple products. The iPhone 7 does not have a headphone jack and does not support Aptx.

Good Product, Good Quality, Good price. I highly recommend this.
I have two of these and I use them to connect my wired headphones to my TV, one in Tx mode, the other in Rx mode. They work great for this. They will function from the battery for a long time, maybe 18 - 20 hours, but I leave both plugged in to USB charger and do not worry about it. The volume control on the Rx works, but could be smoother. To raise or lower the volume I have to hold the button for a couple of seconds and then it moves/jumps to the next level. It appears that the volume is in steps and so it is not as smooth (or fine tuning) as it could be.The connector cords included are of good quality, are long enough to be useful (not the case with some of the competitors), and include everything that you will need, unless you are going to use toslink.

Sub-par sound quality
Functions perfectly, but sound quality from my phone is noticeably diminished compared to plugging it directly into the aux port. It's apparent on both quality FLAC rips and simple streaming music from Amazon or Spotify.I have 3 other aptx BT receivers in other places, from a different manufacturer sold on Amazon, and all of those are virtually indistinguishable from a direct cable, using the same phone and source material.

Works Very Well On a Motorcycle
Great device. I needed a Bluetooth adapter for use with my IPod on my motorcycle. I tried another adapter and it cut the volume down so much that I could not hear the music on my bike - this adapter did not do that at all, I was easily able to hear the stereo, The battery lasted approx. 9 hours which I was very happy with. There was a little bit of sound degradation however not much. It's incredible how small this is, not much larger than a matchbook. My only issue is pairing - first time was automatic, took about 3 seconds. Although it usually works fine in terms of reconnecting after I power both IPod and the adapter on, I find that many times I have to remove this device from my IPod Bluetooth list, than pair the devices again. Sometimes I have to do this multiple times to get it to work. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Doesn't hold a charge
Bought a pair to use with TV. Worked fine for a while but now after six months will not hold a charge. Also had shorter battery life than advertised.Cannot recommend to anyone. There are similar devices out there with longer battery life that work flawlessly.

I was disappointed to find out that no matter what I did ...
I bought the transmitter/receiver because I tend to work late into the night and I wanted to listen to my TV without having to raise the volume and disturb people sleeping nearby. My air conditioner, for some reason, now operates much more powerfully and noisily and makes it impossible to hear voices talking on TV., and its impossible to just raise the volume just to hear conversation and then have it immediately cut to high-pitched, dramatic scores or bombastic action sequences.I was disappointed to find out that no matter what I did the transmitter aspect of the device just did not work, and I could not figure out why. I made the device was charged, and the blue light was on, I changed the audio output to external speakers on my TV, but my bluetooth headphones (Taotronics wireless sport earbuds) never connected, they never located anything to connect to. Keep in mind these headphones connect to my phone and an old iPod touch from 2009. I've seen other users pair their cheaper Mpow BT headphones to the transmitter with no issue. Unfortunately I didn't have a reliable second pair of BT headphones to determine if it was simply my set that were to blame or if it was just a defective item. Its hard to find any info on the net about any "preferred type" BT headphones that tend to work better with the device. I thought maybe my headphones were too cheap to use and that maybe large, over-the-ear sized headphones were preferred, but like I said before I had seen previous reviews showing users utilizing the cheaper model Mpow headphones with success, again giving the impression that my device was just defective
