Good filter for small tank
I quite like this filter for my 10 gallon tank. It's easy to maintenance, works well and isn't that loud. Definitely keep smy water clean but I do have to clean the filter media out each week to ensure goo flow.

Works well but be ready to get wet and dirty with maintenance
Installled this in a 20 gallon planted tank and added an air pump since it had the inlet feature which is nice. It moves the water well and filters really good.Only gripe is cleaning the filter media. Removing it and cleaning everything out and putting it back is a task and disturbs the tank more than I like. May have to modify my lid so that I can put an over the back filter which is more convenient and less bothersome to the tank.

Excellent Filtration and Quiet (Ignore Frequently Returned Warning)
The media could not be loaded. I use this filter in both 6 gal and a 3 gal aquariums. They are powerful and quiet. The best filters I've had. I like that it has the option for 3-tiered filtration but it works so well that I may forgo carbon altogether to reduce using pre-filled cartridges. I use Seachem products and my water is pristine and healthy. As you can see in the video, I use the waterfall feature. I put in the lowest flow setting. The current doesn't sink food or disturb the fish. I have a Betta and 3 Tetras in my second aquarium and the current doesn't bother the Betta either.I tested three filters before deciding on the Hygger filters. The other two were ZooMed Betta Clean and Penn-Plax Cascade 300. I wanted internal filters. Unfortunately , the noise and water flow of these two models weren't to my liking. I was concerned that the Hygger filter is listed as a frequently returned item but I'm glad I decided to try it out. It's definitely an option worth exploring.

The loudest rattling internal filter I ever had
The media could not be loaded. I own the model just above this one in another of my tanks and even though, it is not the most silent filter, it does not rattle as loud as this one does. I have no idea why it is so loud, when it starts, right out of the box, it goes with the expected hum and then about 30 seconds in, it rattles so loud that I just want to throw it away, I cannot use this in an aquarium set right next to my working desk. I may keep it as an emergency one or ask for a return, not decided yet.Update 19 June 2024: Hygger reached to me directly after the initial review and sent me a new filter to try and make sure I did not receive a lemon but, this new filter pump is as noisy as the one I received initially. In the attached video taken with an iPhone (which reduces automatically environmental noises), you will have to raise the sound quite a bit to hear it. Once you hear the rattling, it is the actual level of sound it produces in real life. At the end of the video, I switch it off and pane out to the other hygger filter I own which is the model just above and it is mostly silent. When comparing the impeller assembly of both models, the higher model does have a noise cancelling assembly keeping the impeller for moving up and down which this model is not equipped with.

Very good filter
Have a 30 gal that I needed just a little flow to and this was perfect. Due to its small size it gets clogged and flow decreases but with regular maintenance this little filter works very well!

You get what you pay for
Updated.....seller did reach out to me about not being satisfied with the product. They offered me a replacement for the size step above. Product received in timely manner. Uses the product for a week or so. Unfortunately, the same issue arrived even with the bigger filter. Works great for a few days, then loses its power and efficiency. I tried giving this product a second chance. It's just not worth it, and I suggest spending a little extra on another type.Purchased this for a 8 gal nano tank. Other reviews stated that it was too much circulation in the tank so to go smaller. This filter pumped well for the first two days. Now barely pushing any waves. Had to add my side filter back on too keep the tank clean. Also ordered the filters separately for this filter. After waiting for a month, I finally canceled those.

Cool concept, pump is possibly weak/flawed
Pump output already decreased significantly after just one month. I kept the media clean and the tank only has seven small fish (grow out tank). Maybe I got unlucky, but I'm going to go with another filter that I've used before and know is reliable.I really like the concept and aesthetic, maybe a stronger/more well built pump would be better. Giving it a star due to the concept and variation in filter media in compact form. Also due to the pump being quite close to the surface, if you are away and the water level decreases due to evaporation, it could begin pulling in air and damage the pump. Something to keep in mind!
