Sargent Art 22-7284 36 Count Supreme Artist Colored Pencil Set with Tin Storage Case

Did not find a difference with the cheaper pencil of same brand. Will not purchase again.

I would definitely recommend these, bought two sets of these and both sets are equally good, I also purchased Two sets of the 72 piece sets in the tin also really nice, anyway, smooth lay down on paper, sharpening is easy, no cracked, broken,or shattered leads, one thing I do to get around the possibility of broken leads in the pencil barrel is to blow hot blow dryer air over the trays of pencils until they are pretty warm (about ten or fifteen minutes)and let them cool down then use, something another reviewer was kind enough to share awhile ago and I have never had a breakage of leads when sharpening, anyway I really like all the Sargent art colored pencils I've purchased and would recommend them to others.

I love these colored pencils. They have it all: names on the barrels (a name gives personality as well as helping in it’s utilitarian function so it’s easier to find the color you want and usually the more high end artist grade pencils have names, with Crayola being an exception to the rule), they are pigmented, lay down smooth, layer and sharpen well.There’s one other strange thing they do that is music to my ears, they make the “shushy” sound when you color with them that is like the rustling of fine silk fabric, not to be confused with the scratchy sound cheaply mixed pencils make so you’re coloring on a sharp bit in the core. Usually very high end oil pencils make this wonderful “shushy” sound.These are some of my favorite pencils and I’m happy I got them.
