Salter High Precision Stainless Steel Digital Kitchen Food Scale in White l 11 Pound Weight Capacity and is Easy to Clean

This is the scale they used at an artisan bread camp I attended. The scale is accurate and weighs to the tenth of a gram, which is very helpful for baking and having consistent outcomes.

Idk how to rate this on "thickness", as is asked in the create a review thing. I put 3 because I just don't know. It's not too thick and its not too thin? As for performance, if you are a heavy breather, weighing things might be an issue. Just hold your breath while you weigh, its fine. Also, don't touch it at all, like even the part not weighing stuff. And don't move stuff around your counter either. My SO shut the bathroom door 10 ft away while I was weighing flour out, it went up then down then settled, and settled again. But it seems accurate, though I don't have anything to compare it to. Bread turned out ok.

Salter used to be a great brand, but I think it was purchased by Taylor. They are still better than some of the other brands, but much cheaper than they used to be. This scale is better than others but that's about it. It doesn't have that solid feel I expect from Salter, but the plastic isn't as cheap as on other scales?

It works but nothing impressive. The unit symbols are small and hard to read on the dark LCD screen. It also seems cheaply made. I wouldn't want to accidentally drop it. If I do drop the scale, I'll replace it with one that has an LED screen, or bigger alpha/numeric type.

I have the earlier model and use it all the timeTo weigh ingredients accurately for all the cooking I do. This is run on batteries so you can move it around the kitchen.

Things get messy, so the removable metal surface and the seamless plastic body is great.As long as you start the scale at zero, you can measure pretty substantial batch meal preps.

I just got the box today (it was a few days late) and I’m not at all happy with this scale. It was obviously a return that was sent right back out. The scale itself doesn’t measure accurately at all, it goes from .0 to .5, nothing in between. Also, taring and changing the units changes the perceived weight because the weight is determined based on the full load against the feet of the scale, not just the surface of the plate. That doesn’t even make sense! So if you press down on the screen, it thinks you’ve added more weight to the scale! Like I said, this is very disappointing especially since I like the look and size of the scale so much. Maybe mine was just defective, but I definitely can’t use it like this.
