I couldn't get through it
I was quite a bit into the book and nothing much had happened yet and it just wasn't interesting enough to keep going. Maybe it picks up later. The writer has potential and an eye for the ridiculous. But maybe tighten up the storyline, don't try SO hard to be punny/funny and ease up on the stereotypes would be my advice. Not all Italians, Vietnamese, Indians or gay people need to be painted with such broad caricature-strokes. The author calls the book silly in the foreword. I'm afraid I would have to agree.

A great read
I kept laughing. At this time of a pandemic you need laughs and this book delivers. May it's because I'm from New Jersey, who knows? I love Vinnie. Now living in England I miss food from home. New Jersey Crumb Buns! Thanks to YouTube I got the recipe. Now to make them and to settle down with the rest of the series. Boy do I recommend this book/series..

Not what it first appears
A surprisingly long read, compared to several of similar genres. The main protagonist is a cookaholic with a rag-tag bunch of friends. After problems at work (EEJIT) a lot of things roll along - computer hacking, drugs running, The Mob... but not as you would expect.Yeah - I loved it, but thought I'd missed a crucial piece of the plot. Tweeting the author came back with a prompt reply. "I could tell you, but it would be a spoiler!"Hurry up and finish book 2 :)

Batten down the hatches your in for a bumpy ride.
I swayed from loving this book to hating it back to loving it. The machine gun style of writing got a bit much at times as you were continually peppered with names of characters. I found it difficult to remember who was the cat or a friend or a police man. It's not a book to speed reading once you got used to the authors style it was very funny and chaotically enjoyable.

Funny in part.
Sadly, because this book is so obviously written by an American, most of the humour was a little lost on me. However, I would say this would probably be of more interest to a younger reader?
