Real Page-turner
Although this story was initially difficult to get into and slightly confusing, I was so glad to have persevered. By quarter of the way through it became intriguing, then extraordinary. I was initially irritated by the name Ernestine for the main character as it didn't seem in keeping with the time-setting, but by the end of the book you realise it's a name you won't forget and glad the author used it.A very good book indeed. A few editing errors jump out in this kindle version, which is a pity, but not enough to detract from the rich, dark plot.

A tale of gilded youth.
A beautifully written story set against the dreaming spires of Oxford, where the dreams of some of the characters turned to nightmares.

Three Stars
Starts off slow but does get better. I much preferred her other books though.
