Yes, it is contact paper. It's removable and will stick to metal shelving. I had a scrap piece, and I stuck it to my metal baseboard. It held very well, and removed just as easily.

Pros: This paper is a decent thickness, and the adhesive seems good. I repositioned it a number of times and it still stuck well, even on quite uneven and less than ideal parts of the surface. Cons: It tears very easily. This was quite a problem, because it took very little force to rip it, and it was even a little damaged in one spot when it arrived.
