Lead sheet serves many purposes,Some uses are crafting fishing weights, fire arm ammunition, and other artistic creations. There are also other uses for lead sheeting including use as radiation shielding, packing and sealing material, gasketing, ballasts and corrosion resistance lining. Lead sheets are also a great option for building acoustic control systems because they are an extremely effective and efficient barrier when used alone or fastened to the wall. They can also be adhesively bonded to gypsum board or plywood. Acoustical lead sheet has been developed to improve noise reduction in various environments, such as hospitals, schools, office buildings, industrial plants, apartment buildings and other multi-family buildings. I cut it to line the inside of 1 GAL, and 1 QT sized paint cans. Since lead pigs were too small for some of my samples. Depending on how spicy the sample is, I only need 1 to 3 layers in the can on all sides, to bring measurable levels down to background. Though where I live background radiation levels are higher than most other places, due to the amount of natural parent and daughter radioactive isotopes in the ground. So it wouldn’t get the outer wall of the can anywhere near close to background with this alone in Scotland or parts of Canada. Anywho, tin snips, pliers, and a rubber mallet are all I needed to cut and shape it as needed. I did try to solder the seams closed, but found that just made a lot of smoke and slag. So opted to just overlap, or fold joints. Most samples fit in the 1 QT sized cans that are lined. The rest in the 1 GAL cans. And a few really hot rocks are in both. The lined 1QT inside the lined 1 GAL.

Poorly Packaged and Discolored
Review for: KRT Distributions Lead Sheeting, Sheet Lead Rolls (1/16" x 24" x 24") Lead sheet has damage caused in shipping and handling due to manufacturer's packaging, not Amazon's shipping/packaging. This lead is simply placed in a box that is a bit larger than the product, allowing the very heavy lead to distort while being shipped. In this case the end of the roll was pushed in about 1/4 inch. Unable to fully flatten edge to full 24 inch width. If you are looking for bright, new looking lead, this is not it. What I received is dark looking in most places, very different looking than what I paid a few dollars more for when purchased rotometals lead sheet. I would not purchase this lead again, I would go with rotometals instead.

It’s lead
I needed lead for some shielding, and this is lead that seems to provide shielding. No complaints.
