I’m glad I got past the first impression of the first book!! I’m completely hooked. Who is sookie gonna be with next?!? She’s out here living everyone’s dream, haha! The book is amazing considering the time frame it was made. I can’t ever seem to put it down, and I end up reading her books within day(s).

Sookie Rocks!!
Sookie Stackhouse, the delightful, telepathic barmaid from Bon Temps, LA, makes her fifth appearance in "Dead To The World." As always, anything Sookie makes for an entertaining, absorbing read. This book and the previous one, "Dead to The World," are much better novels than the first three. Extortionist witches, shape-shifters, and faerie's have been added to the supernatural cast, which originally consisted of vampires and one or two other preternaturals. "Dead As A Doornail," is complex, providing multiple plots, fascinating characters, and lots of action.Readers knew from the previous southern vampire episode that there was a possibility Sookie's brother Jason could become a shifter. He was bitten numerous times by a werepanther who had kidnapped him. And sure enough, at the full moon Jason turns into a large sleek cat, and is proud of it. The werepanther community at Hotshot, in wooded Renard Parish, welcomes him and makes him feel part of the pard. Sookie had been fearful Jason would have a terrible emotional reaction to the change and was so relieved at his accepting attitude. However, her relief turns to terror when a sniper begins killer local shifters, endangering her only kin. Sam, her boss, owner of Merlotte's Bar, and occasional collie, (at the full moon), has become increasingly attentive to our lovely blonde protagonist. While they are closing one evening, he is shot and wounded by a sniper's bullet. He remains very much alive, although his leg is temporarily out of commission.Sam is concerned about Sookie's safety, and he also needs a bartender while he is recuperating. Therefore he sends Sookie to Eric, Sheriff Vamp of the Shreveport area and proprietor of Club Fangtasia, to ask for his assistance. Eric, has always been turned-on by the attractive barmaid, and knows something meaningful happened between them. He just can't remember. Sookie cared for Eric while he was bespelled by witches. Amnesia was the consequence, rendering the all powerful head vampire, relatively helpless and frightened. Now, that he is back to normal, he has no memory of the entire episode. But he wants very much to find out about anything concerning him and Sookie, and a possible murder, which he may have been involved in. Eric sends pirate-like vampire Charles to be bodyguard and tend bar. Meanwhile someone(s) is out to get Sookie. Two serious attempts are made on her life. When Calvin Norris, the leader of the pack...er pard, is seriously wounded by the sniper, Jason's life is endangered. The formerly hospitable residents of Hotshot, now suspect Jason of the shootings, believing he is resentful of the change forced upon him and is seeking revenge on all lycanthropes. And as if life in Bon Temps is not already complicated, the local werewolf leader dies and a new chief must be selected. As "Friend of the Pack," Sookie must get involved in the election politics, and old friend Alcide Herveaux's father is a contender. Bill Compton, Sook's former lover is also back in town. Sound exciting? It certainly is, and lots of fun, per usual! Don't miss this one!JANA

Not much of a mystery but still Exciting.... Very detailed
In this book we hear a lot more from the Were's and we hear more from the Fairies Claudine and Claude. Jason now transforms into a were-panther, but is thought to be the person that is trying to kill as the Weres and shifters. They feel that since Jason did not choose to became a shifter it could be him that is trying to kill them. This book is very involved with the weres and shifters, and Bill and Eric is in very little of this installment. Bill makes a few guest appearance with another human on his arm, which upsets Sookie. Calvin gets shot in the chest, Sam gets shot in the leg, Sookie gets shot, but in the arm because she started to "hear" something when the shooter was getting ready to take the shot at her. (Bill get a little close to Sookie at this point, but for a very very short time) Calvin's bodyguard gets hurt badly while trying to protect Sookie. Since Sam is shot Sookie goes to Eric asking for help being that Merlottes needs a bartender. Introducing Charles, a beautiful vampire that dresses like a pirate. Charles is beautiful so he gets a lot of attention being at Merlotte form the ladies. A fellowship of the Sun member tries to take Sookie out by setting her house on fire, which at the end very end of the book you learn A LOT more about this and Charles.Sookie also tries to save Tara from the crazy Mickey, with of course help from Eric. Eric helps by calling Mickeys maker, but before Mickey leaves he beats the hell out of Tara and tries his hand at Sookie, she outsmarts him though. Eric finally learns everything that happen between himself and Sookie while his memory was gone. I can't wait to see how this turns out being that now Eric knows that Sookie and him were together and not just for the sex.Alcide wants Sookie there when the new pack master is to be chosen. Though he leaved her again in the dark about the true nature of her being there. The previous pack master wife speaks to Sookie about everything and then she understand a lot more. During the trials of choosing a new pack master (Jackson Herveaux (Alcide father) and Patrick Furman) Sookie realized that Patrick is cheating and Quinn (New cute were-tiger) the referee stops the trails so the rest of the pack can chose how to continue. When the trails start again it seems that people have chosen to support Patrick into an Jackson. STUPID PEOPLE!! Sookie of' course get injured again while at the trails, but really it just a bloody scrape and Quinn licks her leg clean. YUM! You do find out who the shooter is and that person is killed. The ending of the book you learn the true nature of Charles. Sookie is attacked again but the men of Bon Temps save her (which I thought was cool-since must of them think she`s nuts) Eric comes to Sookie trying to save her but realizes he a little too late. Bill's database actually starts to help at the end of the book because it helps tell who Charles really is. At this part you also find out more about the "person" who set Sookie house ablaze. Eric asks Sookie to help him again with a job in early March. Sookie actually seems interested in helping Eric this time too. In the finally moments of the book Eric and Sookie share another beautiful kiss... What a lovely way to end...This book did not have as much mystery it in as the others but I just enjoyed it very much. On the start the next installment...

Addictive
Totally addictive series. They’re not super serious nor gory. And thankfully the romance is almost nil. It kind of grabs you and you can’t wait to see what will happen next or who or what will pop up.

Must Read
I absolutely LOVE all the True Blood books!! Have read the first 9 so far - the two latest ones not released yet, are next on my order list!! They are fast paced, exciting, sexy, sometimes sad and really well written. They draw you into Sookie's world in an amazing way, it's difficult to pull myself out sometimes and get back to the real world where unfortunately there are no vampires and even worst no Eric!! Apart from Sookie, he is my fave character!! Well done Charlaine for bringing us the world of Sookie Stackhouse!!
