I ordered this remote with some reluctance after viewing some of the negative reviews. The product arrived promptly and worked flawlessly. Side by side it looks identical to the Nikon product I purchased with the camera in 2008 and paid a gazillion dollars for. The original remote still works, I just wanted an additional one and thought for the price it was worth a try. I don't know if the negative reviews were the result of bad quality control issues or shipping damage. As can be seen from the enclosed photos the products are identical, except for the identifying model and manufacturing country of origin on the original, which I suspect is also the same for the current product. In my opinion this was an excellent purchase.

It works, and at a good price. But then, it worked for a very short time.

Works great for my phone. Holds securely, but that is its problem. My phone in protective case is 3 3/16" wide. Holder is stretched to its maximum extension to just accept phone. No way will it go to the 4.2" shown in the description. That aside, remote paired immediately with the phone and worked great. Impressed all around but watch out for phone width limit.

The battery had plastic preventing it from making contact AND was upside down. Just be aware the battery could be backwards haha. Is doesn’t power on the camera like more expensive controllers. If you can prevent your camera’s LCD from ‘sleep’ would be ideal
