Great Affordable Powerful Portable dual process welder and dual voltage input
I done alot of research before making a purchase. I found this welder to be everything I wanted plus some and it fit my budget. The welder arrived as promised and everything was in the box as advertised. SO I got it out of the box and set it up for a test run. I started with 110v and this welder worked well using small rods ( E6011). The tig function worked very well and had a very steady arc as good as red and blue machines. I plugged it into 240v and wow!! Everlast says the max to use in stick function is 1\8 and I say this machine is capable and then some. This machine on stick function has enough power on 240 to cut steel plate ( I would one do it in a pinch) but it may shorten its life, however I say this because I am impressed with the power. The hotstart and autoarc is a very very nice feature and just about anyone can pick this up stick weld. The tig portion is very nice and you get a good torch with built in selonoid in the machine over the 140 which only has a valve, so this save gas. The HF start is a very nice thing as well. I did notice you have to get pretty close to the base metal before you can start the arc with HF start. However, I did read in the manual that this can be adjusted, only if the HF stops working. Other similar price point welders I looked at were Eastwood and Longevity. I settled on this one because of 5 year warranty on parts and labor. If they offer a 5 year, then they put effort in making a quality machine, and I agree. I am glad I made the purchase.Pros, very nice finish,HF start ( or flip a switch to lift start)built in gas solenoid, both GTAW and SMAWsmooth arcauto arc control and hot startlight and portable5 year warrantyThis welder is awesome. Dual voltage input and Dual process welder all in oneConsmade in chinagas regulator leaks a little ( I would have rather had the foot pedal over the supplied gas regulator).10 leads ( 15 would have been nice, but it uses common dense pins and cable can be bought local and extended.)no ac output for aluminum (limited to certain expensive aluminum rods for stick welding), but this is a mid level welder they sell.and that is all I can come up with.Overall:Awesome! Portable smooth running powerful dual process welder that I am glad to have to fix just about everything. Making trailers, fixing mowers, fixing brush hog, making attachments for use in the garden with my tractor, welding pressure pipe, welding many different types of metal by fusing them .

nice little welder,
I bought this welder to GTAW on a 110volt outlet. It does a good job, cant be beat for the money. however there a few minor issues i have had. The gas regulator that was sent with the welder leaked, alot. I called everlast, they sent me a new regulator no questions asked ( good cusomer service). the second regulator leaked, alot less, but it did leak. The gas hose is a cheap vinyl hose, it works but is cheap. So to sum it up, all the gas eqipment will work, but in the long run it will probaly need to be replaced. The switch on the torch is a on/off switch, no amp control. It works, however i called everlast to find out about a torch with amp control and it was a disaster. The guy who answerd the phone must of been new.. Every question he put me on hold for 2 to 3 min to get the answer. He eventually told me that i could get a foot pedal, but could not tell me if it was a on/off switch or variable. The torch works fine so far, but the head is molded out of some hard rubber vinyl material. One of the weird things about this machine is when its in the lift arc mode you must still use the on/off switch on the torch. this will open the gas valve in the machine and make the electrode "hot".A nice feature to save argon, but really then whats the point of lift arc?I would buy this welder again, like i said for the money cant be beat. However if you are used to a red or blue machine this will be very different. I wish everlast would offer the machine without the gas equipment so as to reduce the price a bit and buy some quality parts, or perhaps charge a little more and include some quality parts.

I find that the Everlast is an exponentially better welder than that which I already had
Firstly, I am a novice welder. My other welders are a 110VAC Marquette AC stick welder and a Harbor Freight flux cored wire welder. I wanted a welder which could DC stick weld and which could allow myself to attempt TIG welding. When this welder first arrived, it would power on but would provide no open circuit voltage. I tried setting all of the possible switch combinations. I contacted Everlast via Amazon and they had their technical support person contact me. He asked what troubleshooting I had done and I told him. He then told me that a return authorization would be forthcoming. During the next two days, I received a return authorization and returned the faulted main unit and plastic case. As soon as I turned the return into UPS, Everlast sent a replacement. I received the replacement and it works perfectly. I can find absolutely no problems with the Everlast customer support. One item of note though is that the first welder arrived in a plastic case which had the hinge popped apart. The second arrived wrapped in bubble wrap in a plastic case not having that issue. I would believe that the first was dropped at some point in transit.I find that the Everlast is an exponentially better welder than that which I already had. It produces a much higher OCV than my other welders and I have no issues with 6011 rod. I also dial in a much lower current than I would on my other stick welder. I do not have issues in adjusting the current to within one or two amps and while I have not measured the actually output, it does seem to have a fine output control.I have used this machine on both 110VAC and 240VAC. It comes with an adapter to convert the 50A 240VAC plug to 110VAC outlet.I have yet to bring in the thermal cutout. The thickest metal which I weld though is 1/4".Again, I desired a welder which could introduce me to TIG and still maintain the ability to stick weld. I did not want to spend several thousand for some of the other brands.Everlast has produced a product which to my mind has met all of my needs.I would certainly look at purchasing another Everlast welder.
