It's really gentle on the nail but it can file a lot in a short amount of time. Feels a lot better than using normal plastic files and it's easy to rinse off when it gets too dirty. The file feels pretty sturdy but the cap to the case feels like it could fall off if you throw it in your bag or anything.Overall, while not a necessity, it's really nice to have and I think it'll last me a few years :).

My nails are brittle and break easily. This has made a difference for me in that they don't seem to break, peel, or snag like they did with emery board nail files. Love the nice little case it comes in. I bought a second one of these to keep in my purse.

The glass file works well but there’s something about using it that reminds me of nails on a chalkboard.
