We have two bird feeders where the seed has to be poured in through the "chimney." In the past we used plastic cups that we squeezed to try and pour seed with. Half of the seed goes in and half is all over the ground. We have tried using a regular kitchen funnel without success. We are very pleased we came across this on Amazon! The seed pours very easily through the filler into the bird feeder. We are also able to use it on a feeder that has a square slide opening on a slanted top! We haven't had to use the scoop side yet but it should work fine on a large opening.

I just bought bird seed for the first time in a few months. I have not even used this scoop yet and the bottom is all cracked and broken. The handle is barely attached. I should have inspected it better upon delivery. I’m out of the return window, so it’s my fault. But, this thing isn’t even gonna hold up for one bag of bird seed. :( save your money. Don’t buy this.
