It's getting better
" I think it is haunted, but probably not the way you might think. I believe it’s just packed full of mysteries, mysteries it wants to tell. But so far, we haven’t been smart enough to figure them out. I think it is haunted by the sadness of a family who never knew what happened to their daughter; I think it is haunted by the hopelessness of the slaves who lived there, for surely that must have been what they felt. I think it is haunted by the emotions of those who lived there, but do I think ghosts are haunting this place? No, I don’t. I’ve never seen anything that couldn’t be explained some kind of way.”This is the second book in the ongoing serialized Saga of the Seven Sisters: a grand antebellum manor in Mobile Alabama and what is being discovered as it is brought back in all its glory from ruin. I really wasn't planning on getting the second book since the first one was rather lame. However, I found myself wondering what was going to happen, and decided I'd just have to see.CJ is being hunted by her former employee and friend Mia, who insists that Seven Sisters is her birthright, and CJ and Ashland believe she is dangerous. The key CJ now holds will unlock some of the answers that prove whether she's right or wrong. And, I guess I'll have to wait and read the third book to find out.CJ tells us towards the end of this second book:"This wasn’t what I had planned for when I signed on for this project, but here it was. The disappearance of Calpurnia Cottonwood and her fortune wasn’t merely an entertaining story. Discovering the whereabouts of the heiress and her jewels was now my highest priority, above everything else. This had to end, before anyone else died! I thought of all those who had touched this fortune and then died unnaturally. Christine Beaumont Cottonwood, Louis Beaumont, Calpurnia Cottonwood and Hollis Matthews, and who knew who else"

Outstanding
Come on in the world you enter here will keep you wanting more of it. Let the story take you along with the characters and their journey. This author clearly knows her history and knows how to give it little nudge of the supernatural. You won't be sorry. You will find yourself wanting more of that I am certain. Oil

Mesmerizing
Love the two time lines. Makes you really feel like you are back in time. Love the characters. Just the right amount of suspense to keep you wanting more

Interesting but no ending.
I enjoyed this book but disappointed with the ending. It is part of a series & I did not read book 1. Had I known it was written with the end of this story line in the next book, I would not have read it. I prefer a complete start to finish in one book, even within a series.

Great continuation to the story
Love the story - only wish it was all one book so I could purchase it once and be done. Leaves you with a cliffhanger.

Repeats the same lines
I'm very disappointed in the second book as it repeats the same lines over again through out the book. It makes it harder to enjoy the book. Not sure if it just happened on the kindle book or if it is the same way in the printed book. Started in the first chapter and same thing in the next chapters. Very disappointed in the book. Hope it doesn't happen in the next books also.

It fails on so many levels.
I started this and kept going back to the beginning, I wondered if the start of the book was missing, I haven't read book one in this series but pleased be warned this story is very confusing if you haven't. You are dropped into a tale which is well under way, there is an assumption on both the author and publishers part that you have already read book one. There was no introduction to the story it just carried on from where the first book ended and the ending of this was very abrupt with no attempt to tie up any loose ends so I felt as though a large chunk was missing. Unfortunately the plot was weak, the characters like the plot were under developed and the story just failed to catch my interest, the characters both in the past and the present were walking clichés. On the whole it was a poor effort not worth the time spent reading it, I shall not read any others in this series, and I feel aggrieved that I only got half a tale, but then again that might have been a saving grace as I would have had more of this boring book to read.

Dreams with a Twist
This is the second instalment of the series and I found this one more enjoyable. We are getting to know a little more about the lead character Carrie-Jo and her abilities. This time up until now her dreams meant being in a historical building, this time around her ability extends to other places and objects . I am looking forward to how the story develops and the mystery as why her best friend Mia has turned against her.

Too short with no ending
Fairly well written ghost story but way too short and ends very abruptly when I was just getting in to it. I read this as a free book and was pretty fed up, but if I had paid for if I would be really mad. I didn't realise it was 'book two' in a series, which was ok, but if they are all this short then this is just a trick to make more money out of what could easily be one or maybe two books. I won't be buying the rest now as I feel it it is a bit of a rip off

Addictive reading
This series is full of intriguing characters that the author reveals a little more of in each book. The plots are complex and intriguing, full of local colour and coincidences that are not trite plot devices, but the driving forces of the narrative. The obsessive nature of the key characters are well observed as are the dynamics between them. Though you can often guess in which way the story is heading, there are always surprises. Won't stop until I've read all there is to read.

Be aware the end is not yet reached with this book
Another enjoyable book in the Seven Sister series. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find at the end as with the first Seven Sister book, you have to buy another if you want to get to the end, I overlooked commenting on this after the first book not realising it would happen again.I have given four stars but they are for the quality of the writing, good characters etc, however I wish the author had made it clear in the beginning that you need to purchase all three books before the end is reached.
