The detection distance is fantastic. It has the ability to detect across all bands.I think the setup might be a bit complicated for a novice user. This isn't a use straight out of the box piece of equipment. It takes some tweaking and customization. I can see where people might complain about it going off to frequently, but this isn't the result of a defect. It is due to the settings needing to be adjusted. There are number of websites that can provide very good default settings. There are three very good Android and IoS apps that allow you to easily customize and create "lock outs" for areas with false alerts like you might get from the automatic doors at a store. You can also choose what bands and frequencies you'd like to ignore.I'm not a fan of the suction mount. It works well, but too large to be discreet. I found a LISEN MagSafe Car Mount works well and is inexpensive.

Performance is great. Out performs every radar detector I have owned. I love being able to change settings qnd update firmware through the app. The range of this unit is impressive. But more than anything i love how quiet it is. Once you get all your settings just right you experience very very few false alerts. The mounting system system is great. The suction cup mount held perfectly when i used it. I bought a great rear view mirror mount for 20 bucks on ebay that is on par with similar mounts that cost over 80 bucks. Mounts attach to the detector by way of ¼ -20 threads so you could easily design your own. I purchased the direct wire kit so i dont have to bother with cords. But the cord that is included is great quality. You get a lot of features with this detector. And Radenso adds more with every firmware update they do. I am no doubt a Radenso customer from here on out. This is my first Radenso product and i am very satisfied.

Outstanding detection of all radar bands. Extremely long range against Ka and even over hills. Less range around turns, but still effective. Detects LIDAR only after it's been aimed near you but not necessarily at you.

Bought last minute before a trip from coastal SE NC to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY to use in my 91 Corvette ZR-1. I’ll just say this, the DS1 paid for itself many times over on this trip. It alerted me to about 5 cops shooting radar. Also alerted me to one about 2 miles ahead in the mountains around a blind curve! How it did that I’ll never know, but it was amazing! After returning home ticket free after averaging around 100mph for the entire trip I was a believer! Also noticed that the gps has started learning where all the false alerts are that I drive by daily and is no longer alerting to them which is pretty amazing as well!! My advice would be to anyone who needs a radar detector to just buy the Radenso DS1 and hammer down with confidence that it’s gonna have your back!! Also I purchased the hardwire kit so I could hide the wiring and keep the lighter power socket open for phone charging and Bluetooth adaptor with my factory head unit. Not to mention that the remote button is now conveniently placed on the right of my instrument binnacle for ease of access without having to find the mute button on the detector itself. Btw, the magnet on the suction cup mount is awesome too! Makes for ease of removal for storage in its included case to prevent theft. I’d give the DS1 100 stars if I could, I absolutely love it!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This radar detector IS perfect, esp. for the price. Took it on a 2,500 mile roadtrip across the US, and it worked great, with only a few false alarms that became predictable (coming up onto small towns, in the middle of nowhere, would always set it off).The ONLY complaint is the stupid magnet mounting system, and the short cord. I prefer to have my radar detector mounted out of sight, on the far left of the car's windshield. That is too far for the cord to reach without pulling it out of the magnet holder, which meant I had to mount it dead center on my windshield, which obscured my view AND guaranteed that a cop would be able to spot it easily if they were behind me.
