TRY1058 - Basic Jazz Conception for Saxophone Volume 2 - Book/CD

So glad to find this with a CD. I had this book 20 years ago but never got the CD and now I have students wanting to start this Volume after loving the first one.Exercises in the first half set you up for success with original tunes in the second half. Fun and a bit quirky! Great accompaniment CD with tunes recorded in 3 keys. So awesome!

Possibly THE best book to introduce any sax player to the concept of jazz and jazz phrasing. The tunes are lively and entertaining, though not frustratingly challenging (yet! - see other books in this series). This book will get you phrasing and sounding like an experienced jazzist right from the get go. Some of Lennie's best tunes are right here and are masterly constructed to 'fit' within the beginners capabilities and range.You have to get used to using 'alternative' fingerings to play the songs in this book, but by doing so, you will experience rapid growth in your own jazz improvisations, along with better phrasing and articulation. I cannot recommend this book for the beginner in jazz highly enough.

My daughter has been learning alto saxophone as her second instrument for about 5 months. She started playing specifically to study jazz. We picked these (vol 1 & 2) on a recommendation from her private instructor. We are still on vol 1, but the books are easy to follow and focus the study in on jazz phrasing. The cd's included are very nice for getting the feel of playing with accompaniment. The cost seemed a bit high for such a small book, but the content is excellent and well worth the price.

In my opinion are the best music studio texts for sax. With these exercises they include in a practical pronunciation and rhythm. They arrived in stable times in very good condition. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to do with the sax jazz

Great for beginners who are trying to learn syncopated jazz rhythms. My students like the books because each exercise or etude really drills a rhythm home without it feeling daunting or overwhelming.

I love these exercises and etudes for their ability to help students get the feel for jazz phrasing. I highly recommend this book!

Like all these books, they're clearly written and progressively increase in complexity and difficulty. I really love playing them.

Just what my son needed. He is in his junior year at high school and this was recommended for his lessons.

I migliori manuali di questa collana per apprendere e fare proprio il linguaggio jazz in maniera progressiva, non solo per i saxofonisti; infatti le basi registrate sono trasportate in Mib, Sib e Do, suonate da veri musicisti (contrabbasso, batteria e piano). Avrei dato cinque stelle se ci fossero stati anche gli accordi insieme alla linea melodica sullo spartito. Per i neofiti consiglio l'acquisto del primo volume, poi i successivi. Prodotto arivato in eccellenti condizioni e consegna prima del previsto. Perfetto!

12 Exercieses und 12 Stücke - systematisch aufeinander aufbauend. Die Stücke dienen nicht nur der Übung sondern machen auch richtig Spaß. Intelligente Fortsetzung der Basic-Jazz-Conception Band 1. Für die CD hätte ich mir noch eine reine Begleitmusik gewünscht und nicht nur die Kanalsteuerung über rechts und links, lässt sich beim I-Pod oft nicht anwenden!Insgesamt: Sehr empfehlenswert!

Hallo,diverse Übungen und Stücke für das tägliche Training am Sax, egal ob Alt oder Tenor.Das Basic im Titel bezieht sich aber auf den Level des Spielers bzgl. Jazz, d.h. die Übungen/Stücke sind nichts für den Anfänger in der 3. Unterrichtsstunde.
