Ordered these the day before the Eurocup final soccer game to provide a touch of decor. The banner is quite long. We cut it into two pieces so we could use one piece across the fireplace and the rest up some stair bannisters. They are made with a somewhat sheer fabric (not plastic) with a white tape-like string. The strings at the end enable you to tie it onto a bannister or railing, or tape it to a wall. They are lightweight and could be used indoors or outdoors. Just what I needed and I will be able to use them again for future TV sporting events, royal weddings, coronations and jubiliees.
