Solid Mango Acoustic/Electric - WOW!
I have over a dozen ukuleles, including an Ohana Solid Mango worth over $400. I couldn’t resist buying this mango for only $99. Too good to be true? No, it’s the real deal!PROS:Comes with flourocarbon strings, plu an extra set!True gloss SOLID mango! SOLID!!!!The electronics are GREAT! Built in tuner, volume knob and 3 way tone control! Not to mention it is dead quiet through an amp when not played! No sharp frets, and everything is what they call “tidy construction”Sounds great plugged or unplugged!Comes with gig bag, strap, hangar, picks, cloth and more!Piezo pickup is good and even across all 4 strings.Beautiful instrument and nice finish!Cons:A few high frets, but not muchAction kind of high out the box. Over 3mm at 12th fret.Intonation gets sharp up the neck…it may be because the strings are too high off the fretboard.I plan to put Worth Brown strings on it (my favorite!)Put a bone saddle in and sand it down for a goal of 2mm at 12th fret. That might cure the sharp intonation.Maybe sand the nut down a bit…but it’s not too high. Out the box it’s very playable. So the Ohana Mango cost 4x as much as this and it isn’t even electric….is it 4x better? No! This uke is well done! Easily one of my favorites now, and once I adjust it a bit, it should really impress! I also have the Caramel Solid Acacia Acoustic/Electric as it’s only $79 (?!?!). Wow! Acacia is basically koa wood not grown in Hawaii. I also have a Caramel uke bass, and it’s great too! Proof you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great instrument! I have ukes over $600 and this Caramel holds it’s own right up with them! Overall I am very impressed!

All solid wood good quality
High quality for less money . I am looking forward to purchasing another type of wood . I already own all solid wood mahogany and all solid Acacia . My thoughts are , when the manufacturer ran out of solid wood these uke maybe worth more down the road . Pls don’t settle for the word all mahogany or all acacia. The word SOLID has to be in the specification . I have a 550 usd uke ,this one has very similar tonality and resonance.

Fantastic Ukuleles
Unbelievably Awesome ukuleles for the price. I admit I have UAS( currently 15 Ukes, have owned about 20).I play/perform each week with 3 groups of Strummers and also teach Ukulele at a local Salvation Army (aprox 50 players total). I’ve been playing/addicted/retired 8 years now and have mostly acquired good beginner/starter quality instruments.mostly sub $100.I am a bit of a perfectionist and thoroughly research and test all Ukes I see. I met a few people with Caramel Ukes and was blown away with everything about them, especially the sound witch after a number of years I now can detect the nuances of a upper range quality instrument (usually $400-$1000).I read the Amazon reviews (4.6-4.7) really higher than anything else.A newbies asked me to get him a good starter(he doesn’t buy anything on line)so I ordered a Caramel Acacia Laminate package ($75).I didn’t see him for a few weeks so of course I needed to check it out.He never got this one,It Sings to my ears and the build quality was Great.I did reorder another for him(just as good as mine). Then my UAS kicked in and I purchased 2 more instruments from Caramel.I am not satisfied anymore with entry level quality and wanted an all solid wood Uke but didn’t want to pay $500-$1500) for Koa,Acacia,or Mango.Caramel offered a solid Acacia and Mango for under $150 ea for a complete kit with Electric feature and built in Tuning (no clip on)Don’t expect too much right,WRONG.Both Blew me away, gorgeous gloss, very nice rich wood grain, smooth fret ends,low/easy action ( like butter)TONE (now my #1 priority was unbelievably rich on both ,I can’t hardly put them down or choose which to play.I put Low G strings on both (my personal preference,a bit more bass)but the standard strings are excellent. How can Caramel offer these at this price point?Sometimes things actually are too good for believe. This is the Only Company I will recommend to my students!Keep it up Caramel! I don’t write reviews, this is my 1st,no self interest or influence in any way.I was just so impressed,I procrastinated for a while but each time I play one I feel the need to share and thank Caramel for a job well done! Check ‘em out!

Excellent sound
My wife is a Recreation Therapist in a senior lodge. She teaches the Uke to the seniors and was looking for an upgrade to the Uke she's been using. In particular she wanted one which could be amplified.I carefully scrutinized the Uke when we first got it. The workmanship and and materials are top notch. She loves the tone of this Uke. Being able to use it in larger rooms using an amplifier is a real bonus.Ours came with a strap and had 'strap buttons' on the bottom and by the neck which allows you to walk around while playing. Several YouTube videos (which highly rated this particular Uke) said there was no way to attach a strap. Must have been older models. All - in - all ... Excellent value if you are willing to pay just a little more for a Uke with excellent tone and the electronics to amplify through a guitar amp.

Come with spare strings, batteries, protective bag, and other accessories.. great value.
I wanted to get an Electric Ukulele to play with, as I wanted something easier than a guitar to play with. I saw this Ukulele, which came with accessories, and thought it seemed really great value. It came with a nice bag, spare strings, spare batteries, a cheap lead to plug it into an amp. The included strap is good, and can clip straight onto the Ukulele. Also came with 3 plectrums, and a cleaning rag? It's light, but sturdy. For the price I am happy. It's plenty loud without being plugged in , so you can easily practice without and amp.It was easy to tune it with the built in tuner (G C E A from top to bottom)... I printed out a guide from the internet (About the only thing that's not included, but there is plenty online), and was soon playing chords and simple songs.Great fun, and I'm very happy with my purchase.
