incredible knife for the money, solid, sharp, tough, don't hesitate if you need a bowie
Incredible knife for this price. The sheath is garbage but what can I expect? The knife is great. I work outside everyday on my farm and I have a collection of knives, machetes, parangs, etc... This ended up being my daily. It works as a short machete and does light hatchet duty in a pinch, while still being small enough to open and cut boxes, it's the best of all worlds. If I were ever charged by a panther or boar i'd be happy to have this with me, it's study as can be and holds it's edge better than even more expensive higher end metal blades I've used.

Great knife
OMG THIS KNIFE IS AMAZING. got it for a camping trip and it is great. The grip is beautiful and super comfortable. It fits great sharp out of the box. Easy to start using. The sheathe is a little lacking but the knife if great. Hasn’t broken or chipped. Would need a bit of sharpening though. But for the price I believe if you like Bowie knives you should get this one.

Great knife for under $20
Absolutely fantastic knife, especially considering it's under $20. The brass on the pommel and guard are a tiny bit scuffed, but I'd imagine that's simply from not using a high enough grit to make it shiny and smooth. Again, we're talking about a $16 knife here, so not every single thing is going to be absolutely flawless. But the handle is super comfortable and ergonomic, and has a different shape to it than most handles for a knife this big. The wood is thinner than in the grips of a lot of bigger knives, which sounds like it'd be a negative, but it actually makes the knife super comfortable to hold and use. It also comes razor sharp (passes the paper cutting test, the cardboard cutting test, and the hair cutting test with ease). I don't see any dings or imperfections in the steel, and its shape and blade geometry are as they should be for a standard Bowie knife. For $16, you may as well buy it. It's a great knife!

Pleasantly Surprised
Let me start by saying this blade arrived yesterday, and I haven't used it much yet. I plan to see if it's suitable for what I bought it for this week. I'll get the small nit-picking out of the way first. Having little previous experienced with polished wooden handles I was surprised at how slick the grip is. I bought it mainly for working around the house on saplings, weeds, and kudzu ( Damn I hate that stuff ). The grip was much improved by wrapping some cloth tape around the wooden scales. It would fit my hand better if the scales were a little thicker. Although I'm not a fan of lanyards I'd appreciate a lanyard hole on this knife, but for now the tape will suffice. The sheath is my other gripe. It's just flimsy and I doubt it will function for long. I own another Mossy Oak fixie and the sheath is of significantly higher quality. Now the good. When I took it out of the package it was hair shaving sharp. That surprised me. I took it outside this afternoon and did some light work on kudzu, honeysuckle, grapevine, very small tree limbs, and some dead limbs of about 1 1/2'' on some shrubery. It worked fine. I wish it was a little heftier and longer, but the blade handled that light work with no issues. Sprayed some WD 40 on it and wiped it off and it's still hair shaving sharp! I'm happy with the results of that little test. We'll see how it fares with a little heavier work this week. Being subjective here, but to my eyes it's an attractive blade. I've always admired the lines of bowies and this one looks really nice. The fit and finish are good on mine. The blade has a fairly beefy width and isn't too shiny. It's full tang and I haven't found any troubling hot spots yet. The steel would be a little thicker in a perfect world, but should hold up well to what I bought it for. The brass bolster and tail piece are nice accents. I'm pleased with the purchase right now. So we'll put her to work and she how she does. If she holds up well overall, holds a good edge for a reasonable time, and isn't too difficult to sharpen then I'll probably buy another and find a better sheath for this one. If she meets that criteria I'll rate her a 5 star rating. Right know, I'd give this blade a 4 1/2 if I could. Thanks!

Good looking, well made budget knife
I am very satisfied with the knife. It seems of good quality considering the price point. Very sharp right out of the package. The sheath seems a bit too small for the knife. The point actually cut through the material. Using the packaging, I fabricated plastic inserts for the sheath to safely guide the knife. Before first inserting the knife, I suggest purchasers loosen the sheath by inserting some object that stretches the material. Other than the fit, it's a serviceable sheath. Overall, well worth the cost.

A great fixed blade for around $20
Lemme tell you what this is a 5 star knife for 20 bucks. Came sharp outta the box, and feels good in the hand. Thick steel and full tang should be very durable. I’ve chopped down a bunch of pepper trees, and chopped back a bunch of palm fronds with this knife no problem. It batons well too. I use it to baton hardwood for my bbq grill. Ive buggered the edge several times hitting it on concrete while doing this , and it touches up pretty easily. Sometimes I’ll walk my dog wearing this, because why not? Wouldn’t hesitate to take it camping, I already know from using it around my property that it would be an excellent camp knife. A good knife doesn’t need to be expensive, as evidenced here. Hasn’t shown any sign of rust, and overall just a great knife for the price. The only complaint I have is the upper leather keeper is kinda loose so I just leave it undone. No matter what knives you have, do yourself a favor and practice sharpening them
