The lanyard is very bright but the compass itself is very small and there's no needle. I thought I was getting a bigger plastic holder for my kids little hands.

This is very cute. It works, the only thing is it’s super tiny! I was going to get more for my older children but I’m going to give this one to my 4 yr old and get bigger ones for my older ones.

It took me close to an hour to figure out how and then put the compass on the cord. It involved cutting the cord, burning the ends, and then the tricky job of putting the ends through the too small holes of the “clasp.” In addition, the compass then does not lay flat. Two holes instead of one would prevent that. The compass itself is small, making the letters N-S-E-W difficult to read for an adult, let alone a 4 year old.

Not worth the $$$. Very small. I should’ve done my research first and read the reviews.

My 5 year old daughter had a carabinier compass that broke and I ordered this to replace it. I let her pick out the design. We spend a lot of time outdoors, and while I don't teach her orienteering, I think a basic knowledge of direction and compass use is important. The lanyard makes it convenient for her to access it and put it away with little effort, and she loves it. The only negative comment I could make, which really isn't negative because I didn't read the dimensions in the product description, is that I thought it would be a little bigger. I would say that overall I'm satisfied and will most likely be ordering one for my son as well.

Works perfectly. However wish it were larger. Very tiny and difficult to read direction.

This is a Christmas gift for my grandchild so he had not received yet. I purchased so my grandson can use along with book I purchased on Amazon called FOLLOW THAT MAP!! He can learn mapping skills and use the Legend on the book to find the missing dog and cat along with the compass to follow in the right direction. The lanyard has a breakaway safety clasp and is luminous. Also it is battery free. I think we will have fun!!

Nice simple compass. The picture is misleading on the size, it is rather small

Got this for my 6 year old as they are learning about how to use a Compass at School. This is small, tiny. If it was bigger it would have been perfect, maybe thats my fault for not reading The description properly.

Much smaller than it appeared online, but it is for a 5-year old and will be ok for now.
