Acts (God's Word for the Biblically-Inept)

I started this series by reading the Gospel of Luke. I needed a study guide at the time because I was having a hard time understanding the bible. My problem I thought was understanding the actual text. I realized quickly as I used the study to read that my issue wasn't the text but the back stories and how it related to what I was currently reading. An example, I didn't know that Luke was a physician and his text came from a scientific mind as opposed to Peter, who was the most loved by Jesus who spent so much time with him. The back stories, as I call them made the rich text come to life. Since I loved Luke so much, I decided to read Acts next since Luke wrote that book as well. Acts was so amazing, I decided to keep going without the help of anymore Biblically Inept help until I read through the end of Revelations. I then decided I needed help again and bought "Revelations" Gods Word for the Biblically Inept which made everything crystal clear. Plain speaking writing line by line through each book of the bible is a way to learn how to love this book. The bible now is by far my favorite book to read. Due to this series, I enjoyed reading the entire bible. I plan to read it every year now. I wish I had done this years ago, but am glad I discovered the series in my middle life. This series not only was a wonderful study guide, it gave me habits I longed for and also strengthened my relationship with my Father. Highly recommend!!!!

Any student of the Bible can/will appreciate this novel approach of multiple contributors along with easy to follow outlines. I highly recommend any of the 'God's Word for the Biblically-Inept' series.
