Great price with a great fit on 2004 2500 HD RWD 6.0L.
Great price with a great warranty through Gates, OEM fit with easy install time along with the thermostat. Metal/rubber gasket provided, so silicone is not needed, but I put in on the metal surfaces any way. Make sure to change the clutch fan at the same time with the water pump or the pump may go out due to the clutch fan being off balance or old. Coolant flush is required during this replacement of parts and I always install a new radiator every 5 years or 50,000 miles to never overheat. Radiators only last so long now days and I only use distilled water with dex-cool coolant.

Great quality, fit like a charm
Easy to install, came with all gaskets required, including the 2 Thermostat gaskets. Nice machine work, fit correctly.

Good fit
Works so far. It got my truck up and running for a fraction of the price the auto stores wanted for the same part.

Amazing
Great product and an amazing price. I changed this water pump in a 2006 gmc sierra 1500 4.8. Easy to install. Took me probably 2 hours in the middle of night. No noise and no leakage driven probably 1k miles so far. Make sure you use some gasket sealer for extra gasket durability!!!

Seems like decent quality.,doesn't feel as good as the original AC Delco, or the Murray brands
I have 2 2004 Chevy Silverado's one with the 5.3 and one with the 4,8.Both trucks with just over 200K miles the water pump went out on both trucks withing a week of each other .On the first truck I replaced with a Murray brand from Oreilly's and replaced the thermostat and housing as well. all together cost nearly $200. With the pump itself costing about $140. This was a hefty well made pump with lifetime warranty, very nice finish on all gasket finishes. Came with the standard paper gaskets that I used with a small amount of RTV, worked great. On the second truck I decided to try to save some money and buy this Gates water pump. The pump is lighter weight and the gasket surfaces are not as well finished. It did come with the metal gaskets that have the silicon seal built in, so install might be a little simpler (I personally have no issue with the old style paper gaskets as I know they work) I cleaned up and reused my old thermostat and housing on this one as they seemed alright. The thermostat bolts provided with the Gates pump were definitely shorter than stock, and since these are through holes and my original bolts cleaned up well with a little wire brushing I just used my original bolts instead, (the more threads the better) The Gates pump works great and no leaks, so we will see how long they lasts.

Great replacement
Fit great on a 2004 Escalade ESV. Appears to be equivalent to OEM. Installed about two weeks ago and I haven’t had any issues. Gates has always been my go to for quality parts. Belts, pulleys and idle tensioners have never given me an issue either. Good stuff

I normally like to go with an OEM part
Purchased this water pump for my wife's 2003 Chevy Suburban 1500 4WD Z71 with 5.3L Flex Fuel Motor. I normally like to go with an OEM part, but when reading the reviews for this product vs. the AC Delco part, they were nearly identical, however the Gates part was half the price. I have had good luck with Gates belts and hoses in the past and thought I would give this part a try. It appeared to be of high quality, was well made and an exact fit for the engine. It included the necessary metal/rubber gaskets and bolted on with no problems and no leaks. I will report back later if there are any issues with the part. I also replace the thermostat at the same time with the Gates 33910 thermostat/housing. It bolted on easily. If you are already in there doing the water pump and thermostat, you might as well replace the belts. I did both the serpentine and A/C belts and it was easy and convenient. Start to finish the whole project was about 4 hours, but it was my first time and I could probably shave an hour off that next time (though I hope I get another 170K in this water pump too).Good part at a good price.
