Hifonics ZS653 Zeus 6.5 Inch 3-Way Car Audio Coaxial Speaker System (Pair)

I recently purchased a beater Corolla as a commuter car and decided that I wanted to play my tunes through un-blown speakers while not spending a bunch of money. These speakers are the answer, not only are they among the cheapest you can find but wow do they punch way above the others in their price category. I bought a cheap single din head unit just to get Bluetooth, only rated for 200w, these 6.5s coupled with the 5.25 fronts I got are just awesome. Great sound quality and a good amount of “bass” for not having a separate subwoofer. I’ll definitely be buying these again over the Kenwood KFCs I’ve purchased in the past for some of my other vehicles. By no means are they Excelon quality but the price is simply unbeatable for what you actually get. Only gripe is the supplied wire leads are a pretty small gauge, especially with the 5.25 kit. Worth investing the couple of bucks in some bigger wire and some spade connectors however even using the supplied wiring they sound great. Hifonics will 100% see my business again.

Need some cost effective speakers the old Saturn SL2 and this thing is probably the best performing speakers at this price range . The highs are sharp, the mids are there and it complements the 10” subwoofer. Overall I would buy again , very happy . Highly recommended

I really like that these speakers have rubber surrounds vs foam that you'd normally find in speakers of this price range, which can degrade over time. The build quality seems good except for the soldering on the terminals where the tweeter wire and tinsel leads meet. Whoever did that job needs to be retrained on how to properly solder. One speaker had a big cold solder blob, while the other had very little solder at all. These speakers sound decent overall with the mylar tweets putting out some very crisp highs. Though ultimately I decided to return them as I found the highs a bit too harsh with vocal siblance and certain instruments. The speakers have too much 6k-8k bite, so whenever I was listening to music when the vocalist made an "S" sound the speakers sounded incredibly harsh, almost ear piercing at higher volume levels. The same happened with certain cymbal and guitar sounds. I used many lossless FLAC files from my favorite genres to rule out a specific recording or encoding, and while not all sounded exceptionally harsh, a good majority did. I generally listen to rock and metal (mostly metalcore) and these speakers just aren't a really good fit for those genres, in my opinion. Maybe for rap or other types of music like that they may fair a bit better, especially with large subwoofers as it might help cut through the low frequencies, but I didn't test for that. Ultimately I went with MTX Terminator6 speakers which sound better to my ears and are better suited for my types of music with their soft dome silk tweeters vs the mylar found in these. It gives them a much smoother and subdued high end that isn't harsh. They also have rubber surrounds and are in the same price range, so also check those out.

I bought these for a little center console project on my Jeep and was really impressed with the sound clarity and output for the price. I bought 4 more to install in my daily driver and am very happy with the sound. Are these the best speakers ever? No Are they fantastic for $30 a set? ABSOLUTELY. I bought a set of Best Buy's Kicker brand 6.5" speakers for another vehicle and in my opinion these sound just as good if not a touch better for less than half the price. I'm sure these would peter out a bit if you ran an amp to them but for a factory upgrade on an unamplified stereo (stock or aftermarket) I think these are unrivaled for value.

I have a speaker that is buzzing after only 2 months. I have contacted hifonic support twice and do not receive any contact back from them. I would like a speaker replacement asap. We'll leave this as a one-star review until I can get some kind of support for the speakers I bought.
