Proper style for mason bees
I am on my 4th season of assisting the little mason bees, but my old house (different brand) feel, apart, so this house was quickly ordered and the tubes were transferred. Here’s what I’ve found: the mason bees prefer the reed style tubes, but if you do not provide those as an option, they will adjust to the cardboard tubes with liners. (The reeds should not be used more than one season unless they are thoroughly cleaned with a brush and vacuumed, due to parasites). This house came with a cleat for mounting, and that’s a very good idea. The included screws could be a bit more substantial, but suffice. The cedar smells good and there are no knots or bad sections. I expect this house to last 4 years, or so. Upon opening the box, I was greeted with an ad: post a picture of the house and be entered in drawings to receive a free one. My phone responded that the QR code led to a bad link. When I entered it manually, it worked—- or did it? It’s a Facebook thing, and activation required installing messenger. That’s not going to happen and I will not be receiving any free products. Facebook. Really? I mean really?

Great construction, terrible reed tubes
Very fine wood and construction of the house, as others have pointed out. I did not understand that it is untreated wood, and haven't determined the best way to prepare it for the weather. However, as others have pointed out, many of the 56 reed tubes are mostly unusable. Only 14 are fully six inches long, and appropriate diameter for mason bees. Another 5 are nearly six inches long, but only four of those are larger enough diameter for mason bees. One is closed off because a joint is at each end. 10 are barely three inches of usable tube interior because of where the joint is. I'll get four inches of interior length from another 9, but half of those have too small diameter for mason bees (and some are too small even for leafcutter bees). Of the 8 that are a full six inches long, about half may work for leafcutter bees, but several are not even 4 cm diameter needed for those bees. I'm glad I separately purchased some of the cardboard/paper tubes for mason bees, as I consider 14 reeds to be useless for mason bees, 14 definitely should work, 14 may work, and maybe I am wrong about the remaining reeds that appear too narrow and too short?

overall good, but a few nits to pick
Overall, the house is really well constructed -- I expect it to last many years, with a little care on my part. The main drawback, on this first day of opening it, is that 2/3rds of the bamboo sections included are too narrow in interior diameter for attracting mason bees. Some of them might serve for leaf-cutter bees, but at least half of the total number included are just filler. Bummer. I'll be replacing those with 8mm cardboard tubes.Secondly, some of the bamboo is cut with a node in the middle of the 6" piece, meaning only half of that tube will be of use to a bee anyway. For having taken such good care of the main house construction, it seems a little silly to me to have cut corners on the cheapest part, the bamboo.A lesser concern is that the interior of the box was full of sawdust, though the outside had been neatly wiped clean. A little blast of compressed air at the factory would have kept all that from getting all over my kitchen when I opened the box. As I say, nit-picking, but still ... irritating.

BEST Bee House LESS these items:
Very well built, seams on roof glued and tight, exposed roof countersinks filled, and all brass screws countersunk and tight! Design shows that apiary experience with mason/orchard bees as this economical nest not only was built well but used tubes with reloadable paper fillers, state of the art! Bought a second one and will buy more! Note: mounting cleats were countersunk on wrong side..so unable to use 1/2" provided screws, see pic, (used the additional 1.5" screws provided but did not understand what third extra screw was meant to be used for?). One nest had a protruding sharp end of a staple or brad that I had to remove, see pic, (discovered when it sliced open my finger tip! Dang!!!). I also would suggest that the product be suppled with a 6" cedar shim, see pic, (as loose nesting straws will irritate bees and conceivably could work loose with weather right out of nest...or when transporting nest. Placed at an angle this economical door wedge gently compresses all the tubes together holding them firmly against the sides and back of the nest!

Excellent product. Top notch engineering.
I’ve bought a few bee houses, and most are just glued parts of bamboo, maybe cedar here and there and all of them water damage, or get invaded by bugs… this new house though is impressive. The wood and chamber parts are excellent quality; the profit mount and screws, the size of the water cover… excellent work at a reasonable price. All you need are the bees! 😉

Solidly made with heavy, durable wood.
The strong, durable wood used. Mason bee houses usually seem to be rather flimsy and mine never lasted more than one year. This one seems made to last.

Well Crafted - Quality Product
It was a nice surprise to receive something that exceeded expectations. Every feature of this product has been thoughtfully considered. From the choice of quality wood, overhang roof, easy to hang integrated 2 screw bracket and tube-within-a-tube design gives me confidence this bee house/condo will be around for several seasons.

Very Solid!
This Bee House is very well built and also looks wonderful.Only issue for me is that the mounting bracket doesn't really work on vinyl siding so I had to mount a square of wood to the siding first. But that wasn't a big deal to me as it's a wonderful bee house.I'm excited to see how much use it gets!

good purchase
very well constructed and excellent design. since i wanted to mount it on my stucco house, the included wood screws were not sufficient and i worried about the wood splitting with larger screws. it didn't, but a sturdier base for attachment might be a useful option.

Made In China
There is zero information on Amazon about you or your products. BUT, the card that came with the bee houses says you are a small family-owned business, and have a mission to support worthy creatures. Somehow that translated to me as a business worthy of being supported. But, your product is made in China. You are simply a re-seller who is really good at hiding the fact that you do not make anything yourselves. I will not be buying from you again.
