Fits only 1/2" stock....nothing else.
Eh...I messed up buying this. Its a 1/4" jig which is what I needed but not until it arrived did I realize it only works on 1/2" thick material. Any other thickness and well....its not gonna work. Ended up buying a self centering jig that is adaptable anywhere up to 2" thick material. Can't remember if product description mentioned only 1/2 thick material only. Just a heads up in case you are considering.

Worked perfectly, but...
Worked perfectly for me, but the two screws came loose, and the alignment between the two pieces gets thrown off. The two pieces are not pinned to each other, and the screw does not self center the two pieces when tightened. Next time I use it, if it works perfectly again, I'll plan on drilling two holes to pin the pieces together.

Accurate and inexpensive
Only gripe is that the smooth steel and acrylic make it hard to clamp into place for drilling, and end grain makes it worse. Not the fault of the tool, though. Just operator error. Built quality is good, accuracy is good, price is right. Quality of the drill bit and stop is also quite good, so an overall good buy.

Strength in a small package.
Great little gadget for joining 1/2" hardwood. Easy to use, quick and easy. A fluted fowl and some wood glue and you're good to go.

Must buy worth the price
This Jake kit is amazing important shop it's one of the best tools I use now especially when I'm making like Temple frames or even clock complex items like a table top accuracy every time
