Not as weak as they say
This is my 1st electric toothbrush. I ordered it over the oral b smart 1500 because it's cheaper and I found more people who swear by it than oral b. Later on, I read comments where people who have this 4100 for 10+ years say that the newer 2021 version has only half the power of the old version. Someone on reddit showed images of the inside of the new and old versions and the new version has a small plastic toy-like motor, while the old version has a big copper-wrapped motor and an old version user said "now I understand why the new version is lighter and less powerful". I was disappointed on the new version and tried to cancel the order but I couldn't. Once it came, I decided to try it and to my surprise, it brushes my teeth way better than my manual soft-bristled and hard-bristled toothbrushes(I use both manual brushes daily compared to my daily usage of the electric toothbrush 4100 C2 head of medium bristles. If you have gum sensitive issue, buy the S sensitive or G2 optimal brush head. If you want hard-bristled, buy W diamondclean brush head). I don't know how good the old version was but this newer version definitely brushes better than any manual toothbrush unfortunately it doesn't not come with a travel case. Update 5/16/2024: I bought the Oral B smart 1500 because it was on sale and I wanted to see how better it is compared to the sonicare. The oral B package looks nicer and bigger than the Sonicare but upon opening the smart 1500 package, I saw hair all over the toothbrush. I did read many customers saying on reddit that their Oral b toothbrush were repackaged, but I can't believe I'm a victim of this nastiness. It also took 2 weeks to reach me from Hawaii and since it says "made in China", I think the seller is located in China. I'll return this and I'll advise you to buy the Sonicare instead of the oral b if you don't want to be cheated receiving a used-repackaged toothbrush. Update 05/22/2024: On 05/17/24, I bought the Oral b smart clean 360 which has exact power as the smart 1500 that I returned but the smart 360 has 5 modes and a button to change the mode while the smart 1500 has 3 modes and no button to switch between the modes. The advantage of the oral b smart clean 360 is that the brush heads cost is cheaper than the Sonicare 4100 and I find it better at whitening my teeth than the Sonicare. That's all the advantages there. The things that I don't like with it are many, so I'm just going to name the most annoying ones: 1) The brush heads are too big compared to the Sonicare(see picture): Putting Oral b brush heads in my mouth is like putting a golf ball in my mouth(my head and mouth are wider than the average US male). 2) The brush heads have holes(see pictures) that trap saliva+toothpaste and creates more noise when the brush handle needle rotates in the presence of the liquid mixture, and moisture will be also trapped easily in the holes(most customers complain about Oral b brush heads design. Oral b corrected the needle issue with the IO version but the IO introduced a shallow hole which now traps moisture in the brush handle). When I'm using the Oral b with no choice but to have my mouth wide-open, it forces my mouth to produce more saliva which gets mixed with the toothpaste and enters the brush head and creates more noise. 3) Rattling noise: The Oral b smart clean 360 isn't as noisy as people say. It's the quality of the noise the problem. It's a very unpleasant rattling noise as if you're hearing an old car engine with broken parts in it. That noise gets worse when liquid enters the brush head holes. 4) The charger is not round like a perfect circle: You must put the Oral b brush handle in a specific position to charge it and if you place it wrong, it'll fall and might break. 5) The Daily Clean mode is rough and combined with the big brush head the experience is bad, but the smart clean 360 has more mode which make it smoother and better than the smart 1500 but not as good as the Sonicare 4100. 6)It has no auto-stop mode: You keep brushing without knowing how long you have been brushing your teeth. To summarize, the oral b non-IO brush heads are cheap but very badly designed for a pleasant toothbrushing. I won't recommend it if you're shorter than 6 foot tall or have a small mouth.

Replaced my old Series 2 Sonicare with this one and can highly recommend this 4100 Model.
I was replacing my "old" Phillips Sonicare, specifically the HX6240, which was a series 2 model. Loved it. I found newer brands of electric toothbrushes seemed to be including 2 features I did not want, sending my data; and, reminders to brush a new area every 20 sec for 2 minutes. The latter called Brush Pacer results in 6 reminders. I prefer 4 reminders, the Quad Pacer Timer, 4 - 30 sec increments. Easier to keep track of where I already brushed. This new 4100 had the Quad Pacer, was not info invasive, and I could use the same brush tips I liked. The Lithium Ion battery on this new one lasts longer than the old NiMH one. It can sit on a "similar looking" charging base to the old one. But the new model is charged via a USB type A cable base and cord. You can use any standard USB charger you already own for phones or tablets. This model includes 2 Pressure sensitive settings, which is all I need. It is lighter and has a slimmer profile. One unexpected thing is that you can actually charge the new model on the older model's base. My spouse still uses the older model, and when we have extended travel together we take just one charger. Its turned out to be the perfect replacement electric toothbrush for me. (Photos: Older Model is on your left.)

Great value Sonicare toothbrush
This is my second one. My first Sonicare 4100 lasted until it finally wore out, so I bought the same model again. Itโs one of the most affordable Sonicare electric toothbrushes, but it still does a great job. It cleans well, the battery lasts a long time, and itโs simple to use without a lot of unnecessary features. If youโre looking for a reliable electric toothbrush at a reasonable price, I definitely recommend this one.

A Good Toothbrush with a Design Flaw
Iโm happy with this toothbrush. My dentist recommended this brand and recommended the sensitive brush heads. Iโm always brushing my teeth when tired, often really tired. Early in the morning or last thing before bed. I do a much better job caring for my teeth with an electric toothbrush. It's a fraction of the effort. It took a little while to get the feel for it. I wanted to continue to actually brush with this toothbrush which youโre not supposed to do. Once I got the hang of it, it was all muscle memory! My one issue is that this toothbrush is the power button which collapses over time (about a year to a year and a half). As it collapses, it gets harder and harder to turn on the brush, to the point where I've had to use the tip of my finger to get at the button. And the cover on the button disintegrates. You can see in the picture the difference between the power button on a new toothbrush and one thatโs been well used. I contacted Phillips and received a replacement. The same thing happened to the replacement, shown in the picture. Itโs a waste because the toothbrush is otherwise functional.

Gets the job done with ease
My brotherโs a dentist and has gifted me several of these over the years. It was time to try a new model I love them just takes a little getting used to as they operate on a very high vibration rate but do a great job of removing plaque. The built in timer lets you know when to change quadrants too which is nice!

Same great quality.
So glad Sonicare continues to make this model. They wear out over time & my husband likes the easy to use settings on this one. It fits nicely in his hand, is a good weight, easy to recharge.

Itโs NOT less powerful - it actually has 2 speed settings!
I had the prior version. Loved it. Reordered when that one finally died after 4 years. I also had initial impression that the vibrating power on the new one was significantly diminished. But it turns out thatโs not true One day I accidentally started and stopped it twice and after pushing the button twice it doubled the intensity of the vibration. Itโs like thereโs a baseline cycle and if you stop that and start again there are 2 speeds. Push once=low vibration. Push again it turns off. Push again it turns on low vibration then push one more time and it is the higher vibration (2nd speed). Not sure why you have to cycle through a low speed off then low to high but try it- itโs actually a great toothbrush once you figure that out.

New 4100
I've had my first Sonicare for 9 1/2 years, and while it still works, the battery light never reaches full any more, and this is the first time I've seen them on sale, so I went for this one. I paid around $30 instead of $50 on Black Friday sale. They say they don't give you a wall plug for sustainability, which is clearly a falsehood. If they cared about sustainability, I'd be able to use my perfectly good previous wall charger. Do they honestly think we want to charge our toothbrushes from our laptops? It's ludicrous. I found a link on their website where you can request a wall charger brick. In the mean time, I'm using one I already had. Who knows if it's appropriate. I should have just stuck with my old charger. One star off for this. The toothbrush itself is fine. I picked this one because I don't think they need more than one button. It has all the features I need: timer and high or low intensity. Also the pressure sensor is a nice touch. It's thinner to hold and makes a lot less noise. I like the change for that reason alone. All my variety of Sonicare and non-Sonicare brush heads work. So far so good. We'll see if this one lasts 9 1/2 years, though.
