Good controllers for Batocera or Retro Pi
Setup and used on both Batocera and RetroPi. Good quality and work great but they are expensive. If you have an Xbox or ps2 controller use those and save money.

Amazing controller - one of the best I have ever used.
I used to use a Nintendo Switch Pro controller with Steam. It was a headache (even with Steam I had to get additional drivers). Initially I wanted to get an Xbox controller but even the more expensive models fail after 6 - 12 months. Reddit recommended to try the 8Bitdo.I chose the wired model as I sit in front of my PC but there is also a blue tooth version. The controller is immediately recognized in Steam, Microsoft Games and Epic Games. The controller is solid: compared to the Switch Pro: the haptic feedback is much stronger and the feeling reminds me of the old PlayStation controllers which is great. There are two things you need to be aware of: the two buttons on the bottom of the controller can only copy a function of the other buttons. It is not possible to assign a different function to them that you haven't already used another button on the controller for. This is disappointing as they have the ideal position to assign for example shift up/ down in Forza. So just forget about those two buttons (I don't use them). The controller comes preconfigured with the button assignment reversed to what the game show you: A = B and B = A etc. To solve: download the 8Bitdo software from their website. This gives you complete control of the configuration. You can set up to three different profiles. It is also possible to upload you desired configuration to the controller hardware so if you use it at a different PC it will still remember it without having to install the 8Bitdo software (I like B = B, A = A etc).It is a really good controller - among the best I have used in my 35 years of gaming :-). And it's priced very reasonable.

Solid build, springy shimbsticks.
I bought this to test compatibility with fire TV cube, but due to limitations of the cube it had very limited functionality. On a PC, android phone and iPad it worked and felt great.A great feeling wired joypad for the price.

Works great on PC and Android!
I bought this to replace an aging controller, and I couldn't be more happy with it.The D-Pad feels like a brand new SNES controller, from all those years ago, and the face buttons have an extremely minimal wobble that wouldn't even be classed as one (by an incredible majority of people). The cable is rather long, and uses a normal USB Type-A connector. On the go I plug it into a Type-A to USB-C adaptor and connect this controller to my phone (Android, Samsung S22+), and it works perfectly with the Snes9x version on the Play Store, without any configuration.VERY IMPORTANT WHEN USING ON ANDROID WITH AN OTG ADAPTOR:HOLD B, OR Y, AS YOU PLUG THE CONTROLLER IN. ONLY ONE PLAYER LIGHT SHOULD BE ON THE CONTROLLER, IF THEY ARE ALL FLASHING YOU NEED TO DO THIS AGAIN!

Awesome!
My favourite non-official pad I've ever used, sticks are great feels nice in your hand and I love how it looks I dropped it once and the shoulder triggers came off, they just clipped back on though and worked fine after. It's not going to be primo official xbox/ps5 controller quality but it's half the price and so far the best non official pad for me, recommended.

Works great for classic styled games!
Pros:This controller is made perfectly for classic games. The D-Pad is precise and responsive (unlike the official switch pro controller) and placing it at the top makes it easy to use. I personally use it for Tetris and its wonderful, no longer giving me any of the mis-drops that the Switch pro did.The buttons are incredibly responsive and clicky, and the analogue triggers would be useful for any PC games that use them (though no switch games can use them unfortunately). In general the controller doesnt feel cheap, which is incredible for a controller with its price-tag in the current gaming marketNotes:The rumble is quite strong, kinda like an old gamecube or PS1 controller. It doesn't have HD-Rumble, but this more classic rumble still does the job.Cons:Personally, this isnt something I would play more modern games with. I've never really played much Playstation so I'm not a big fan of the sticks being in the middle, it feels like I have to reach my thumb over or adjust my grip to use properly. I could get used to it but its just not my cup of tea, just feels a bit uncomfortable. No capture button! The star button is to activate turbo, not capture. Also, the back paddles dont do anything on switch or PC unless you map them to a different button in their software, wish they could be their own buttons on PC for mapping in other games, but oh well!Still a bloody good controller, would absolutely recommend!
