Carrier & Pinion Bearing Puller

This is a great tool for anyone that doesn’t have a press but is going to do gear swaps. I bought this to do the gears in my Jeep, Dana 30 and 35 diffs. This tool easily removed the pinion and carrier bearings on both. Instructions with the unit were straight forward, but if you’re using something like this, you really don’t need them. Tool is high quality and better than expected for the price point. Made of heavy material, the 3 clam shelves give you a variety of options depending on what size bearing your removing.

Worked very well. If you see videos of this pulling the cage off and then needing to cut off the bearing. It's used wrong. Put the rase on when pulling, tighten the lower ring and upper to secure the puller inside the cups, bearings come off every time.

Careful buying this, they have Two designs the first design has a terrible weak weld and it WILL break. I had to repair it myself and weld it because by the time a replacement would get here it would have been way too much time. I did contact Vevor directly and they said it’s a known issue with them and that a replacement would be sent 2 months later it never arrived. It’s a great tool once you repair it yourself otherwise don’t waste your time. Or maybe you’ll get the updated design The last picture is not my picture, but that is the updated design check out the weld it is proper. I’ve noticed if you have a orange one it’s the old design the yellow one is updated.

Beast tool, for the price it's amazing. Very heavy, decently stored with it's holder. Did a ford 8.8 in the sand, bopped em right off. Wish it did carrier bearings too. Ended up using a slide hammer and 2 jaw puller with some electrical tape and the homies to help.

used this on a Chevy 12 bolt to pull the bearing off the pinion to change the shim, it worked fine but the bearing had a little damage, the cage was bent a little and I had to install a new one. - MINUS 1 star. it does work easier than a big HYD press and bearing splitter, I used a 1/2 impact driver. Maybe driving it by hand would not have bent the bearing cage - can't say for sure. I would still buy it again. now I can load it to friends.

Giving 5 stars only because it got the job done on a 10.5 sterling on an F250. The clam shells are slightly too big to fit the carrier bearings, so I had to use a BFH to smash the collar down. That made the white powdercoat peel off and get all over my freshly rebuilt diff! I was able to get both sides done and my rear is noise free. Dave Mustaine would approve.

Dont waste your money. The A500 grade A steel tube or A53 grade A threaded pipe whichever it is that they used to male this does not have a high enough yield strength for the threads to hold up to the tension they are placed under and will fail and it can damage the pinion gear or the bearing you are trying to get off if not both. Unfortunatly, the clamp shells or suffering from the same problem. If this was made from something like 4130, 4140 or SSA304 steel even a 1045 would be able to hold up to more than a one time use if your lucky. Tested it out on an old pinion gear I had laying around worked great but as soon as I went to use it to remove the bearing from the pinion gear I needed to remove a shim from to put back into the differential the threads failed causing an uneven pull on the bearing and about the same time the clam shell started to bend out from the tension causing it to slip off one side of the inner race of the bearing and destroyed the bearing. Upon removing the tool from the pinion gear noticed the knub that pushes on the top of the pinion gear had somehow managed to also set at an angle causing it to set off to one side of the pinion gears threads and had destroyed the threads on the gear. Needless to say I will be going to the parts store tomorrow while crossing my fingers that they will have a new ring and pinion gear and inner bearing in stock. However because I live in North Pole my chances are slim. I really miss the old days when company's cared about the quality of there products and only made high quality products that actually did the job they were designed to do and would last a lifetime. Remember when a new care would last more than 30,000 miles after the warranty with no problems at all, but if your product only last long enough for the warranty to expire and you design them so the cost of the repair is high and availability of parts is questionable making it comparable to just purchasing a new one sell more product. I would post a picture of the pipe threads that caused the whole thing to destroy the bearing however I may have been a bit upset after realizing I now had to spend another $800 on gears and bearings and took it out on the pipe piece and there is just not much of it left that even comes close to resembling what it use to look like.

These pullers make life easier but I could not justify the expensive brand one. Glad I bought this as it’s the most affordable one out there and I am not disappointed with the quality. Every part seems well made and finished - the clamshells seem strong and offer a number of bearing diameters to choose from. This is the one to consider if you need this type of bearing puller.
