Power Crunch Protein Bars, Peanut Butter Fudge, 12 x 1.4 oz each

I found a medium sized box on my doorstep with PERISHABLE written on the side. I don't remember ordering anything from Amazon but it was for me. Inside was styrofoam, an ice pack, and plastic bag with these protein bars inside. I looked at the ingredients and they seemed vaguely familiar to me so it must have been yet another 3am shopping moment. Having said that, these bars are astoundingly delicious! They don't taste like any protein bar I've tried to choke down but more like a peanut butter chocolate wafer cookie. Quite filling, satisfying any chocolate craving, and I don't feel my blood sugar spiking. I saw from some of the reviews, these melted in the summer heat -- hence the extra care to prevent that. Crunchy, awesome tasting, everything you'd wish for in such a product, and none of what you wouldn't want. Honestly, I don't have a single complaint.

At first I read the ingredients listed on Amazon and ruled out this product because I don't allow Hydrogenated oils in my diet for obvious health reasons. Then I spotted a Power Crunch bar at Whole Foods and read the ingredients - no Hydrogenated oils included. Confused, I then called BNSG (manufacturer of Power Crunch) and asked that they confirm whether this ingredient is included (past & present) in any of the Power Crunch bars. (3/2012) I was told by BNSG that Hydrogenated oils have never been a part of this protein bar's formula. I informed them of the error on Amazon's site (for all flavors) and they didn't seem too concerned by this, but said it would be investigated. I can only guess that BNSG is currently meeting its sales goals and therefore can be complacent to have such erroneous info attributed to their product. I hope that this review can help others be more willing to give these bars a try, since they are really a nice product. I have ordered many cases from Amazon and NONE have included the stated Hydrogenated oils. Having hopefully clarified any ingredient issues, let's get on to the other features of this unique protein bar. If you like wafer style cookies, then this item may be an interesting choice for those looking for a new protein bar. Since the wafers are made of whey protein, the flavorings are in the coating and in between the wafer layers. Such construction allows for this protein bar's consistency to be light and non doughy, as almost all other protein bars on the market aren't. I especially like them because this feature means that they won't weigh me down and will digests quickly. The flavors are also very good while Vanilla and Triple Chocolate are truly DIVINE. They are also sweetened with Stevia, so of course there is no bitterness or aftertaste. The only negative features are that they crumble easily so it's important to eat/transport them carefully, they melt easily so refrigeration afterwards won't restore them to their original form, and the Wild Berry Creme flavor does contain one food dye colorant (Red 40). Cases of each flavor are also priced differently - some being almost $3 more. If you like wafer style foods, want a light, fast absorbing protein bar that tastes fantastic, give the Power Crunch bars a try. *Please note: I am not affiliated with BNSG and/or any other nutritional organization. So far, both strawberry flavors taste the best to me. I did not care for the peanut butter/chocolate flavor - and I like all things peanut butter. The lemon creme has a strong lemon flavor - it was ok. I just ordered PB creme and cookies & cream. I have tried the higher protein mint choc, and it is pretty good. These do crumble a lot and the coating melts quickly making for messy fingers, so not a good snack to eat in the car or on the run. Not an overly long satisfying snack, but the wonderful crunch of the wafers feels like I am cheating with those wafer cookies of my childhood, and the crunch itself is very satisfying to me. I have purchased about 4 boxes of the strawberry and strawberry chocolate ones. I just ordered a single vanilla creme. Not a big fan of chocolate, so nothing to share on those. I am a dark choc lover, but not in cake or protein bars. Keep in mind, these are whey protein bars, so a touch chalky, but it is what it is....

These are my go-to snacks- -I keep them in my backpack, car, desk at work. Great flavor and texture, doesn't taste like a protein bar, doesn't sit heavy in the stomach (the wafers are light and flaky), and doesn't feel like a health food snack. I agree with the other reviewers that they feel like a little treat or desert, but with the added benefit of protein and low sugar

Delicious, but why palm oil? There are 7 grams of saturated fat In each bar and that is the max that Dr. Google says should be consumed daily. Why not a healthy oil???? Lots of kids eat these bars. The protein is great but why ruin it with saturated fat ?

Excellent product and packaging. I have purchased these bars multiple times over the years. I use them as a meal replacement on early morning days as a nurse. It’s a little too early for breakfast and this holds me until I can grab a lunch break. I should add the taste is delicious! I’ve had problems with packaging in the past but these were wrapped securely with an ice pack due to high temps this summer. Would definitely recommend.

My Family likes the taste of,and variety of flavors.I like that there is no gas producing Malitol or Erythritol.Low sugar ,decent Protien.A little dry not too bad.Camecwith a cooler with ice package.Was 90t when arrived .,and not at all melted.

I have tried the Power Crunch Protein Energy Bar in 4 flavors so far. The 4 flavors I have tried in order from my favorite to least favorite are: 1. triple chocolate 2. peanut butter fudge 3. mocha creme 4. cookies & cream I am currently on a macro meal plan and these bars fit perfectly into my flex macros without using up all of them. The Power Crunch bars are great because they have less sugar and less carbs and more protein compared to other brands whose nutrition info I had read. The flavor of these bars is SO great. I'm a chocolate junkie and having these bars as my 4pm snack hits the spot perfectly. I put them in the fridge because it helps the top layer stay solid and I also thinks it improves the flavor. OH-- I have to say that the texture is what made me interested in this product at first. I LOVE the crispy wafer. I hate the smooshy texture of other options... it grosses me out. I eat this at 4pm and workout at 6pm... I feel full but not to the point where I'm sick while working out (burpees, running, jump rope, etc., lots of moving around & up and down) which is great. I've been looking for other brands to switch it up but I honestly haven't found anything with less sugar and carbs and the same amount of protein so I don't think I'll be ordering any other brands any time soon which is fine with me. The triple chocolate flavor is my FAVORITE but I just had the peanut butter fudge and I think it's a really close tie. It definitely doesn't taste like Hershey's chocolate but it's close enough to curb my chocolate cravings. I really think these taste delicious so I don't mind eating them. I definitely recommend these bars.
