Requires patience
Overall I like the look. I have a hard time keeping a curtain rod up in my dining room, so decided to try this. I did not enjoy the process. I’m not great at cutting things precisely, so I made some mistakes. Fortunately I ordered extra. I would suggest cutting the product to fit your exact location and use a fresh blade. Directions say to leave a margin and then trim with a utility knife for an exact fit on the pane of glass. I found this unworkable because the water you must use makes it slippery and almost impossible to cut accurately. I happened to have a small squeegee that helped a lot. Took me several hours, but I’m not great at DIY. It’s also hard to separate the backing film to peel off. One reviewer suggested putting tape on a corner to help separate the film. Thankfully that helped. If you find the bubbles won’t disappear, make sure to have the smooth side against the glass. Kind of a dumb mistake but I did it twice.

A tad tricky to install with the tiny grid pattern, but here are some tips.
First let me say that it's my fault for not noticing it came in 2 different sizes when I ordered it the 1st time (accidentally got the smaller size). We have a full clear glass storm door over the front Pella door & I figured it needed some UV rays protection before the expensive door fades due to the full sun shining on it most of the day.Upon receiving & cutting it to fit the glass door, I realized I needed another roll because it only covered a tad over 1/2 of the glass width. Upon getting my 2nd order of the same square grid pattern, I cut it & began installing both. The film is of a thicker & darker vinyl than what I expected, but it's been installed so I'll live with it to see if it grows on me, but as of now I'm not really liking it. The grid pattern reminds me of rabbit hutch wire fencing. The exterior looks reflective, almost like a mirror. I wish I'd bought the wider size with no pattern for my full door, but live & learn, right?MY TIP TO YOU IN ADVANCE:1) measure the width of your glass door before ordering (length of the roll had about 2-3" of excess vinyl to spare)!SQUARE GRID PATTERN INSTALLATION TIPS:1) if you need to position 2 rolls to match up the lines of the grid pattern, be sure to apply each so that the factory cut sides butt up against each other in center of the glass.2) apply it so the edges that you've hand cut are along the sides of the glass door frame which will camouflage any uneven cuts.PHOTO DESCRIPTIONS:1st - 3rd) view on an overcast day from the inside of our house looking out the front glass door. Notice you can see the heavier line running from top to bottom where the 2 vinyls were butted up against each other. I tried my best & the lines matched up when I started applying it at the top, but upon squeegee-ing the air bubbles out it must've shifted because when both were installed the grid lines weren't an exact match. Towards the bottom of the door you can see a slight gap where the 2 vinyl panels had shifted apart (3rd photo).4th & 5th) looking at the outside of the glass door you can see how reflective it is as it mirrors back the image of my porch post, landscaping & front yard (not a fan of this look). The last photo is a close up where you can see how the vinyl grid pattern didn't exactly match up. I'd applied the 1st vinyl with the factory cut up against the door frame edging. After applying the 2nd vinyl panel with the factory cut edge butting up against my hand cut edge in the glass center was when I realized what I should've done instead. In the future I may or may not try to remove the 1st panel to reapply it with the factory cut edge in the center of the glass to see if that looks any better. I'll also see how it looks at a distance from the exterior & at that point decide whether to keep it or throw both panels in the trash.

Better than most window film
Have put up the one way dark privacy film before and now am trying this translucent one.Like the look. It does obscure both ways so I covered half of my window.Tips1. It’s always easier with a friend2. Take the plastic protector off after squeegee-ing air bubbles out at least once. Take it off like you take painter’s tape off-keep finger on the film so it doesn’t pop off. Squeegee again afterwards.3. Small bubbles settle and disappear over 1-2 days4. Forgot to unroll it and let it straighten out for a bit -surprisingly didn’t matter except for the very last bit that was wound last and most tightly around the roll. That part resisted squeegee for a few min.Surprised how easy it was to put on compared to other film. Water from a squeeze bottle with an angled spout is more helpful than a spray bottle.

Great for privacy!
During the day the film looks like a mirror from the outside. At night, with a thin curtain, you can't see inside either. The film does darken the room quite a bit, and filters out the yellow light (room is darker and bluish).Has helped with temperature regulation a bit, but not drastically (but I'm in AZ, so anything helps).

Pretty and easy!
I was a little hesitant to order the rainbow film due to the lack of pictures, but based on another review I decided to go for it. I’m so glad I did! It’s so pretty, the colors change depending on how the light hits it & what angle you look at it.It’s pretty easy to put up, the hardest part is keeping the edges from peeling away from the window before you trim them, but i used an old gift card to run along the edges right before I trimmed them with a craft knife and it worked great. If you have a hard time peeling off the backing, just use a little piece of tape or fold one of the corners a little bit and it’ll peel apart easily. If it doesn’t seem like it’s clinging to the window, just use more water, lots and lots of water, and keep squeegeeing it, it’ll stick I promise!

Will this beat the Texas heat?
I bought this because structurally, my apartment won't support blackout blinds. To keep the temperature down somewhat in the summer and to cut down on the light bleeding into my room during the day, I figured this would be a relatively cost effective solution. Time will tell, though, whether this will stand up to the Texas heat. So far so good. The film was relatively easy to put up, though not without its creases here and there. Probably took me 30 minutes to do the large sliding door. (required 4 rolls) I used an atomizer bottle -- one of those room fragrance sprays -- and would strongly recommend using an actual spray bottle for the sake of coverage.

Creates Privacy
I am really tired of blinds as complete dust magnets. Because I live in the city, I don’t want others to be able to see in. Installation on the bathroom window took less than 15 minutes. Once it was dark I went outside and tested the privacy, 100% what I was looking for. Now I’m trying to decide if this is what I want to do to all of my windows and removing the blinds.
