My old shredder finally gave up and parts were no longer available. I mistakenly purchased very well known brand that was nothing but junk. Returned after about 2 days. I was not familiar with Dahle. Dahle was founded in 1930 in Germany by a man named Dahle. It is not a fly by night operation. I did a little research and checked the boxes. Called customer service and was blown away with their professionalism, competence, product knowledge and obvious pride in the company. Phone answered promptly, no recording and answered in person by a customer service representative. Customer service based in New Hampshire. English is the first language. Called on specifics a couple of other times prior to purchase on tech specifications like motor size etc. They manufacture shredders from this type of home office or personal to large corporate shredders. They are German engineered. The line I purchased was the PS line and it has multiple options ranging from the base 300 model to the 380 with a range of prices. They also make another similar line named the SM line with automatic feeders and make 3 sizes in that line. Upon receipt of the unit when I picked it up I thought this thing is heavy as in metal not plastic. After I unpacked and started the unit I was amazed at how quite it is. It meets or exceeds every advertised max for this produce (again less expensive in the personal line are available). I actually laughed when I shredded couple of expired credit and drivers license. Absolutely no motor pull. Took them as quickly as a piece of paper. I looked into the bin and heck I could not even find the pieces from other material in the bin. No one is going to retrieve the information. This model has a separate slot for ripping CDs of DVDs. They are ripped into multiple pieces with the same degree of effortless of motor pull. Impossible to mirror the pieces to gain information. Summarizing: Dahle build quality products even in the small line however do not do the marketing others do. Check out the company. My experience is not yes but absolutely yes I would recommend their line of products depending on the size of your needs. From the time of the first call to inquire about the product until the time I turned it on the first time to the actual use it has been a 5 star plus quality experience.

The stereotypical “Made in German” craftsmanship is clearly seen, felt and experienced through this product. Giving it A+ Across The Board. Extremely satisfied. You get what you pay for, it’s the truth.P.S. this is an updated review roughly a few months in. Utilizing this machine every day since it arrived, it’s just as the first day I pulled it out of the box. The shredder’s still functioning and operating precisely while obliterating various amount of residential paper waste day in and day out. The best home investment I’ve made since my large appliances. You genuinely get what you pay for.

Overall good design, pushbutton operation, also doesn’t need blade oil like most of the other brands. Also good 800# phone customer support.

I have been using this shredder for a while now and I am very happy with the performance. Easy to run, runs without jamming, does a beautiful job. Very happy.

I have received the shredder and it came with american power plug had to go and buy a converter for it even so that you knew about that it was for Australia have plug it in turned it on and was giving it a try with single sheet of paper after 3 pages it stopped and a smell come out of it could never come back again sound like it was a faulty shredder and I wish to get a refund for it since I had to go and buy one locally that works no problems and used the same power point.Kindest RegardsDavid peleg

After going through so many cheap shredder (typically lasting less than two years each) I checked Dahle, a German brand whose reputation I knew about but had never seriously considered because of their higher price. After a few months of use I'm very happy with it: excellent, smooth low noise mechanism that never needs lubrication, container is very easy to slide out and empty, overall well worth its price. Recommended!

The media could not be loaded. Great shredder to use on the desk. A tad noisy but not as much as others. Simple to start put the cord in, slide the glider to auto and the light will come on -start shredding. Most importantly it shreds and does the job!

Ok for 2-3 sheets of paper at a time. 2nd time I have gone small.... They always look like a BIG Dog online until I receive them!! Eventually I may have to go to a Brick-and-Mortar store for "hands on shopping" ORget name and model and THEN order on AMAZON.com
