DaichDCT-MNS-VB Quart Spreadstone Mineral Select Countertop Refinishing Kit, Volcanic Black

I absolutely love my new kitchen counters! I just finished them a week ago so I can't comment on durability yet but the transformation is amazing. I posted before and after pics using the volcanic black on tan laminate counters. The part that took the longest was the taping but it is an essential step because you can't use brush strokes with the brush or you will see the lines. Follow the instructions to dab with the brush. I learned this the hard way but the brushstrokes in the finished counters are not noticeable to anyone but me. I wound up removing the tape before I put on the clear coat and I would recommend it. It allowed me to see small edges/spots that needed touch ups before the final step and I think my edges around my sink and stove are better sealed this way. The product was very easy to apply (no harder than painting). I bought two kits to cover about 48 sq ft and could have just made it with one kit. I'm glad I have extra for touch up later though.

We decided to try this on the benches in our holiday house. The tops were tired, over 30 year-old green laminate with real timber edges. We sanded everything back and did 2 coats of base, two coats of spreadstone, sanded after two coats (it’s really easy to sand) we decided to do a third coat of spreadstone to get it looking perfect. We then ended up doing three coats of the clear finish (it’s really thin) and we still have quite a bit left over. There is not much smell or dust, so it’s not only easy to use, it doesn’t give you a headache. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to do a cosmetic makeover on their benches.

I love this product. It was easy to use and the results are amazing. It takes time. Gives true meaning of "watching paint dry".

I recently refinished my counters in the Sundance color and was very pleased. I bought the black to revive a damaged table. It was easy to use but I don’t like the color as well as the Sundance or the Oyster color my sister has on her counters. Still a good purchase.

We redid our kitchen benchtop with volcanic black. Despite the sanding it still has a rather textured finish. We discussed finishing it again with resin. But decided against it.
