Maybe more later, but just a couple of clarifications to the product description. It seems like a great little player, volume is massive and not muted per EU Regs. It has no internal memory as most players do - you will need an SD card to store anything. The card slot is MICRO SD - not standard SD as listed. Also it shows the SD capacity as 512Gb - In fact my 1Tb card works perfectly well, so that is not a limitation.UPDATE After living with this for a few weeks, I'm more and more happy. Sound is fantastic, player is easy to use and reliable. One minor drawback is that the firmware might be better are organising your files - for example, I can select by genre and then by album title, but not by genre then artist. And sometimes the firmware will second-guess you on your own defined attributes - so James Brown is listed under the firmware's genre of Funk, not my genre of Soul. But these are minor quibbles for a unit of high quality and great value for the price.

Feels heavier than it looks, but that could be the metal exterior.Touchscreen for most of the controls. Didn't read the pdf manual, but was able to figure most things out just by playing with different swipes. So ease of use isn't intuitive, but once you know what you're doing it's fine. Screen is bright and clear.Volume button on side is a twisty knob. I've had this thing at 30% - 40% with bluetooth earbuds and it was fantastic. Sound quality was crisp and clear, and I've not played with the built-in equaliser.I bought this specifically for creating custom playlists to manage my autism and so far so good.I wanted a case to carry it and was tempted by a several, until I realised this is compact enough to fit into a GoPro minicase that I had, and the Bluetooth was not affected, so saved some money.Micro SD card: fingernail wasn't enough to push it in as far as I needed to, so had to get creative to solve this minor inconvenience. I used a 64Gb card and I would suggest organising any music prior to uploading e.g. By artist / album etc to make finding a specific song easier.Overall, if you're paying over £150 for something like this, you ARE going to get a quality product that is superior to cheaper alternatives, which I've also used but ended up buying this instead.This is the best Mp3 since my ipod nano.

As soon as I opened the box was surprised by the size and design. Bluetooth connectivity and availability to add an expansion memory card, definitely worth the price and better performance and product compared to the likes of Sony, Samsung or Apple products. Small product with big heart.

I tried listening with Bluetooth buds, very poor.Through it in a draw.Then I bought Beats Solo 4, and used an audio lead, WOW.Unbelievably brilliant. The clarity, and sound is the best I’ve heard.Recommend.

Great for 2 days then I was lossimg signal in the right side on occasion. By the time I new it was the headphone amp it is too late to returnIf I could get a replacement amp or a 2.5mm balanced cable I would be slightly happier.But as it stands I recommend DO NOT BUY.

A superb little DAC capable of delivering high quality sound from almost any digital format including 24bit DSD. Although it isn’t a music streamer (you need to feed a source into it) it’s the perfect way to get great sound out of a computer or Bluetooth enabled smart phone/tablet and feed it into either high quality headphones (it has both balanced and standard output jacks) or a high grade Hifi system. Well constructed, versatile and a steal at this price.

Got this to replace my 1st Gen Fiio MK3 hi res player. This is definitely a big upgrade by in both sound , ease of use . And the screen a lot better viewing. So will post another update after having the item for a longer period..UpdateAfter contacting Hidiz for information about the plug configuration for 2.5mm balanced cable , they contact with circuit diagram 30 minutes after sending email.I then converted my AKG headphones to mini 4 pin XLR female socket and rewired headphones cable. Then purchased a custom made 2.5mm to 4pin XLR male. And I have to say it's outstanding in both sound and channel separation. So it's another thumbs up to Hidiz

Habe den AP80 PRO-X nun seit 4 Wochen und bin wirklich begeistert. Der Klang ist sehr ausgewogen, kann verändert werden. Einfache Bedienung und macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Über die Qualität des Akkus kann ich nach 4 Wochen noch nichts sagen, aber für den Preis ist das kleine Dinge wirklich erstklassig. Mir fehlt zum Vergleich mit höherwertigen Geräte die Erfahrung, es klingt aber um Längen besser als mein iPhone.

You can all the specs on this in the listing itself so I’m not wasting any space on that. I want to say it is amazing how much is packed into such a small unit. We’ve come a long way from the portable Walkman tape player or cd - so much so it boggles the mind. Qualify of this unit is great. Sound more importantly is top notch as expect and tweakability of the sound is also possible in ways far exceeding mere EQ of which it also has. The ways I refer to related to musical characteristics such as bass and sibilance for both high and low - emphasis or bringing vocals forward or pushing them down. Crispness of sound. These characteristics are easier to understand in terms of the ambience you want to create. Also these characteristics may change from headset to headset. So saving these profiles for easy retrieval is a great feature to have. I believe this unit represents several years of improvement in terms of specs and is a good place to be for the next couple of years. Also the features it has in terms of variation of decoding capabilities is very wide and good to see. The size of it is Both good and bad thing in that it is convenient and small but verging or fiddly. Components are well integrated and functional and other the unit fairly intuitive to manage. I like it a lot. I do recommend it

Great little music player. The startup graphics look a bit dated. But it's straight foward easy to use and makes a big difference for listening to music compared to listening on your mobile phone. Makes listening to music enjoyable again without destracting phone notifications, first piece of electronics I've seen in a long that doesn't require you to create an account to use!

I was wanting an inexpensive, compact, light pocket sized music player for exercise and work. As a music enthusiast, I have a Fiio and HiBy, yet both can be cumbersome in pockets, especially during exercise. In any case, the Hidizs is compact and gets the job done by playing a range of music files. It’s an affordable music player with some limitations. It does NOT have wireless capabilities, and is limited by a clunky interface. It’s refused to play some MP3 files twice already (said they couldn’t be read), but shutting the player down and starting it again, fixed the problem. The interface and menu is fairly basic, and is difficult to flick through albums or artists using the menu system alphabetically, it’s just too small for your fingers. The player doesn’t keep up with what you were previously listening to, so you have to sort through your albums or artist to find the track you were last listening to before you last shut down the unit. You can add playlists or favourites, but I’m yet to find a resumption button in the menu. The unit has no internal memory, so you must purchase a SD card. Bluetooth is okay and recognises both my Shures and cheaper EarFun monitors. Can sporadically drop and pick up some interference like many other units, but Bluetooth range is pretty good. Wired earphones do sound better using the balanced 2.5mm output.When I get to it, I’ll pop on some true lossless files and see how the unit handles hi res, but for now, it’s handling the 320 bitrate MP3’s fairly well (despite the sporadic skipping of files). The transfer of files is easy enough, but tedious updating the firmware via the SD card rather than over the wire.Finally, battery life is pretty ordinary, definitely not in the same league as either the Fiio or HiBy. The Hidizs will last you around 6 hours before it’s starting to need some charge, but charging the unit is pretty fast using the supplied usb c cable. The unit also comes with factory fitted front and back plastic protectors that don’t inhibit the overall look or feel of the unit. I would still recommend grabbing the faux leather cover, just in case.If you’re in the market for a relatively cheap DAP that fits in your hand and pocket comfortably, can justify the extra cash for a micro SD card, faux leather case, and earphone, then the Hidizs might be for you. While it’ll get the job done, be aware of its limitations.
