Sturdy, solid, has a nice sharp edge. It's also a bit heavier than other bread knives which I think gives it an advantage in slicing vegetables like tomatoes -- the weight allows the knife to do the work for you.

What a great little bread knife. It makes nice clean cuts on bread, cakes and pastries. What more could you want?

I believe this was the best cost-benefit I could find after searching for a bread knife quite a lot. I'm happy with my purchase. I love baking breads and recently moved into a rental home that had no decent knives in the kitchen. Now I can cut my breads with ease and without destroying them. There might be better, more expensive knives out there, but this one is clearly of very good quality, comfortable to hold and does the job.

This knife is very well, balanced & very sharp. Slices through (especially fresh baked) bread nicely.

This knife feels nice in the hand due to its weightiness and balance. It does not feel like a cheap knife. The serrations are not as sharp as I had expected, but after trying it out on some crusty homemade bread I can say that it ripped through cleanly and without much effort. I’d say it’s a fair value overall. I also like the design of the handle. My only concern is that it is made in China, because after reading many other Henckel Knife reviews I get the impression that their line of entry-level knives manufactured outside of Europe are inconsistent in quality. Otherwise, I am satisfied with my purchase.

This is a heck of a deal. The knife is very substantial and does a beautiful job. Previously I used the similarly priced 10 1/4" stamped steel bread knife of Swiss heritage that is popular here on Amazon. I liked it well enough, but one day the blade snapped right off at the handle during normal use. Kind of frightening. The knife was less than a year old. And even before it broke, it was not in the same league as this one. This is a high quality tool that is sure to satisfy.

This is a great knife. It's extremely sharp and cuts bread exactly as advertised. Very happy with it.
