A great quality MK switch
In our house, MK switches were always seen as a sign of quality and despite it no longer being a British owned company (they are now owned by Honeywell, an American company), they don't seem to have sacrificed on the quality of the switches i.e. they remain as strong and robust as ever. This review is for a 13A switched, fused, connection unit with a neon light. Strictly, it doesn't come with a hole for a cord to be inserted i.e. if you need to connect it to a washing machine or dishwasher, where the cabling is outside of the wall however, it does look like this could be achieved by the removal of a small plastic cover. This switch should hopefully be a like for like replacement design for your existing switches. The switch also operates with a very satisfying click, so you can't mistake when you've pushed it.Unlike many older switches, this switch comes in two distinct parts, the first containing the main electronic components of the switch and the second being a removable faceplate. The advantage of a removable faceplate is that it can be used to cover up the screws attaching the switch to the wall, thus making it look slightly tidier.Crucially, it is very easy to install (provided you are comfortable working with electronic circuits, as to do otherwise, would be extremely dangerous) and all fixings are included, being the screws to hold both the electric wires and for fixing it to the wall. However, the backing box for inserting into the wall and attaching the switch to, in the case that it is a new rather than replacement switch, is not included.Overall, I would highly recommend this switch, if this is what you need.

Quality unit
At first glance, this seems a rather expensive switch but on further examination, it helps to justify this. It has a 25-year guarantee from a well-established supplier which shows confidence in the product. It has a slim profile and well marked up terminals and is supplied with medium length fixing screws. It fits onto a standard box but has a two-piece design with a clip-on border. The securing screws are concealed beneath it which improves the look and when redecorating you can remove the border without disturbing the main switch to paint behind it. The switch felt positive in use and it does have a feeling of quality as a whole. I used it to replace my existing switch which sparked when operated which was not very reassuring! This is a good design and I believe for high current switching it is worth the significant premium over alternative offerings for piece of mind and likely to give long service and look nice doing it.

Good quality
It is good quality and professionaly made MK Essentials 1G 13A Switched Fused Connection Unit with NEON.I like it because ,this connection unit is sturdy and made from strong materials. Also,it is very easy install it because, here is clearly printed how to connect wires.I used it for my electrical water boiler but did not need to use external cable, because all cables hidden in a wall,so I use this Switched Fused Connection Unit with NEON ,only like a normal switch because, the flex connection hole is covered,so no problems. However,if I need I always can connect the boiler to it.The NEON light is helpful, easier to see when the boiler on.Good value for money, well made and stylish switched fused connection unit with NEON.

Install only if you are a Sparky
I like the MK Essential range, and they are all themed to look identical and give a long-lasting professional look.I found this switch to be an excellent replacement for an old immersion heater, as this has a flex cord coming out of the front. Now my sample came loose with one screw fallen out of its hole. Not a problem to re-fit, but I feel this is not a good thing if opened and not noticed. A small screw is easy to lose. The neon was not connected or located to where to be connected, and there are no supplied instructions or details.

Good quality but pricey
Good quality and love the idea of the easy remove front edge plate for redecorating which keeps everything neat. Well made and comes with fixing screws etc. My only issue is that it's a bit pricey. I know it comes with 25 year guarantee but I've never actually had a plug socket go faulty plus who keeps receipts for 25 years anyway so not entirely sure it's a good selling point in this instance. But we'll made, looks good (isn't as white as most plug sockets) and if you don't mind paying the premium price then you'll like it.
