Bosch 676967 Control Unit for Dish Washer

Bought a house. Bosch dishwasher ran for 4.5 hours on regular wash cycle rather than 2 hours. From a Google search, determined that the control unit might have failed. Seems to be a known problem for this brand of dishwasher. Had a service repair guy come out and he confirmed issue. Dishwasher is 8 years old and no longer under warranty (we didn't realize it was so old and thought service call would be covered). Repair company was going to charge $204 for part + $25 for labor to install new control unit. Bought control unit from Amazon instead. Googled how to replace it. Husband was able to do so within 20 minutes. Dishwasher runs properly now. Saved us $94. Wish we had skipped the first service call!

The replacement control computer was easy to install and worked flawlessly. The questions is why did the original unit fail. It appears that the design of the control computer does not sufficiently isolate the computer from transients voltage spikes on the equipment safety ground wire. Bosch might want to consider taking steps to better isolate the control computer from these kinds of electrical problems.

It is exactly what I was looking for! I received a day or two before it originally said it would arrive. I put it in the same day and it has been working as it's supposed to ever since. My husband was hesitant about ordering a new one vs soldering the old one (for the third time) and even he is pleased so far.

My husband is not fix it guy, but it was easy to install with a Youtube video explaining how to do it. I would buy it again, dishwasher working perfectly now.

Part works well, but did not come in a sealed package so we are not confident that it was a new part.

My Bosh Dishwasher was running for hours, not cleaning the dishes, or every really heating up. This fixed it. It runs like new.
