Removu S1 Rainproof Wearable/Mount Anywhere 3-Axis Gimbal with Detachable Handgrip and Wireless Remote Control for All GoPro 3, 4, 5, 6 and Session Cameras – Black (RM-S1)

First off, if you think this gimbal is going to solve all of your issues with getting perfectly stabilized video footage without putting some work in, then this gimbal is not for you. You need to stick with the GoPro version of this tool.I have used this gimbal on my ATV, Motocycle, and in my hand and this the video looks great In all situations. It's perfectly stable. I have been really impressed. Setup is critical to insure that you get the best footage in your certain situations. You need to practice with it in different oreientations to see what might work the best.The only opportunity for improvement on this device is the motor noise translates into the H5. This isn't an issue on the H4 or H3's. I really can't fault Removu for that issue though. It could be addressed easily if GoPro added a feature to select which microphone you want to use in diffrent situations. Turning off the mic on that side would totally eliminate that issue. Most of the footage that I use from using this device is for B-Roll. The wind or engine noise from my footage on my bikes drowns out the gimbal motor noise. This only becomes an issue when the subject matter is really quiet. It is possible to use this with an external microphone on your camera by using the GoPro Mount on the front of the gimbal to hold the microphone. This completely solves this issue and gives you better audio quality.I have used gimbals from multiple diffrent vendors for my GoPros over the last couple of years, and this one is hands down is the best one that I have used. I love the ability to mount this thing wirelessly and control which way its facing from across the room. That's a really cool feature not offered on any other product on the market.Overall this is a great product. The only thing that could have made this better is having everything with USB-C inputs, andTip: Use flashlight mode! Using the gimbal in this manner reduces up and down movement in your footage. I mount it in this fashion on my ATV and my motorcycle and it looks great.

I bought and then returned because, though it worked very well, i just didn't think it was going to go for me because I'd probably end up breaking it while snowboarding or while partaking in other rougher hobbies I like. I'd have to say though, it still is a pretty nice piece of equipment. I think for like vlogging or other types of filming (less rugged sports type stuff) this thing would be an excellent purchase. It makes very smooth video.

Works well. Holds a decent charge. I like that you can mount it to any gopro mount.. Only thing I do not like is if you want to capture audio you can hear gimble noise, other than that it's a very nice hand held gimble.. I use this with my hero 5.

disappointed that I only received 1 battery for the removu...since there isn't any where to buy a second battery it's a big inconvenience when I go on a Shoot.... Please to hurry up and sell the accessories for the Gimble, or tell me where to get one, Thank you

This gimbal is fantastic; I tried all the modes and got silky smooth footage. Unfortunately, I had to return it because my needs suddenly changed and decided to get a gimbal that work on my GoPro as well as a new mirrorless camera that I bought. Just know that the return policies are not very clear and you may not be able to return it.Btw, the remote control was a great idea and I wish my new gimbal had it. If you only need the gimbal for a GoPro this it it! I believe it also works on your phone!

Is a great piece of gear and worked flawlessly while on week long trip to Europe. The battery life was far greater than expected and the stabilization made video very professional.

If you don't have a Removu S1 in your GoPro Camera bag.. Cool stuff awesome gimble

Have been wanting to get a chest mounted water-resistant gimbal for skiing and for mounting my GoPro 5 on my bicycle, which I can also use the handle with. Have got a Gopro Karma Grip at moment, which doesn't really achieve either of these requirements.Unfortunately, I have today had to return the second Removu S1 that I've received this week.The first seemed ok initially when using it with the detachable handle. That all ended when I mounted it onto and went out on my bike, at which point it just constantly made loads of confused whirling motor noises. Assuming that one was a dud, I ordered another which arrived today and was similarly disappointing. The remote control to the second one refused to stay on when powered up, which kind of made it redundant. The gimbal itself, like before, just got very confused when subjected to any fairy standard movement that it would experience on a bike / running. Just pushing my bike along on the fairly smooth roadway had the same effect. Not sure if this is a firmware problem or what, all I know is that my karma grip worked brilliantly straight out of the box and is a far superior gimbal, albeit that it has it's own draw-backs. Given the £300 pricetag, the two Removu S1s that I have been sent just aren't fit for purpose - such a shame as it has the potential to be a really nice useful bit of kit.

This has been such a disappointing purchase.After receiving the product, I attempted to follow the instructions and attempt to calibrate the gimbal.Unfortunately as I switched on the unit it started thrashing about, I managed to control and attempt to get in to the calibrate mode, but it would not calibrate. The motor became extremely hot and I have not been able to use this at all.I am returning the unit and would rather wait to find another brand. For this price you really would expect to receive a good product.

If you want to use a hero 4 like me then before you purchase you need to know that this does not come with a waterproof housing even though it says it is compatible. It comes with a frame which will only fit your hero 4 without the waterproof housing.So before you purchase check you can buy the Removu waterproof housing that will attach to the gimble. Your current housing is not compatible. It wasn't easy for me to get hold of. Most of the sites were only USA delivery only or didn't have stock. For this reason it's lost a star on my review. The photos are very misleading.Now I have that out the way I can inform you that is one of the nicest products I have bought in a long time.It is well built. Nice materials. Comes with a case to carry and keep it in which is a massive plus.Not used it for long but it's very easy to use. Switch it on and it works, no calibration needed. You can change the rotation of the camera position wether it's clip is on the left or right. In the pictures the hero 4 is upside down, but you can spin this axis the other way so it is the right way up.Comes with most accessories. A double battery charger but only 1 replaceable battery.Battery life is a good 4-5 hours. The GoPro batteries run out faster than the gimble battery. The replacement batteries can be bought online if you want more.

The manual does indeed say not to expose this gimbal to very hot or very cold temperatures, but it doesn't say what those temps are. I thought that because it's a gimbal for an action cam, the temperature commonly experienced while skiing would be okay. So I used this in temps of -10°C and the gimbal turned off whenever the camera was touched. When I returned to room temperature, the gimbal worked again properly and stayed switched on when touched. This happened twice again so I'm sure it's because it can't handle cold temps much below -5°C which is a shame for an action cam gimbal. Battery life is also vastly reduced by cold; it lasted about fifteen minutes on a full charge while holding it while skiing. I think the metallic body, while sturdy, exacerbates battery and electric issues from the cold because it gets colder so much faster than plastic casing would. That said, the gimbal is very sturdy and has a lovely quality when working properly. Unfortunately it did not suit my needs so I am switching back to my old one which is reliable in cold.

This is far from cheap but if you want a lightweight, professional Steadicam system for your GoPro this is it. There's no shaking in shots when using this even when running, and best of all there's no canting (when the camera is held at a slight angle, so everything looks sloped). Very lightweight and complete with a rechargeable remote control, it takes a very short time to become used to what it can do, while you plough through the manual (also an online manual) and some of the functions are unintuitively named, but they're easily learnt and within a couple of ours you'll be churning out video like pros.Bearing in mind the Go Pro 6 can shoot in extremely high resolution this device could make movie-making a lot cheaper.
