With a bit of effort, works just fine with a non-Dino-Lite digital scope and is a great stand upgrade
I bought this for use with my Levenhuk DTX90 (review at Levenhuk DTX 90 Digital Microscope USB connectable 10-300x 5Mpix digital camera). The stand that came with the the DTX90 was just too unstable and this Dino-Lite (DL) stand appeared to be a significant upgrade. There are some quirks associated with it when trying to use it with a scope for which it wasn't designed but my rating is based on just the mount, not any incompatibilities with my scope. As to the stand...The stand is packaged as two pieces but assembly is trivial with the stand tube inserting into the baseplate and a set screw tightened. I worried this attachment mechanism wouldn't provide the required stability but so far it's been rock solid. With it assembled, I was ready to try it out and hit my first problem. This is designed for DL scopes and while I thought the DTX90 would have the same exterior dimensions, my scope has a larger diameter and couldn't mount in the ring. The size mismatch was exacerbated by a separate (plastic?) protective ring inside the metal ring which would protect the DL from direct contact with a set screw that ensured it would be securely held. A bit of manual labor and I had the plastic out but still my DTX wouldn't mount as the instructions called out. The only way to in any way securely mount the DTX was to just push it down as far as it would go which was about to the focus ring. Unfortunately, mounted in this manner, I couldn't lower it enough to get maximum magnification. Luckily, the rack and pinion mechanism sits in a large groove in the mount tube and its position is secured with two screws. Removing them allowed me to reposition the mechanism and get me to a position where I could focus at maximum magnification. The screws no longer had homes but there was enough friction without them that the rack and pinion worked fine. Even if it moved, it would be easy to put some sort of spacer into the tube slot to prevent the mechanism from sliding within the grove. My only remaining issue is the 45mm of travel doesn't allow me to use the maximum magnification range of my scope. I can manually drag the whole mechanism up the grove so I do have a quick work-around but there may be a more elegant way to handle this. The mount works great with my scope. It is very steady and it slides very smoothly with only a tiny amount of backlash, nothing that really bothers me. This is a far cry from the stand that came with my scope. It's a very minimalist system but it's sufficient to get the job done and done well. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is it seems a bit too expensive for what it is. They probably don't manufacture a whole lot of these and miss out on economy of scale but they might sell more if they dropped the price a bit. Also, they could easily change their design a bit and openly aim for people like me who bought the inexpensive scopes and want a stand upgrade. Bottom line is with a bit of modifications, it works very well with my DTX90 and probably would with the host of other similar scopes.Update: I posted some photos taken using this stand. It certainly helped making the focusing easier. The photos are at AmScope PS100E Basic Biology Prepared Slide Set for Student and Homeschool Use, Set of 100 Prepared Glass Slides (Set E), Includes Fitted Wooden Storage Box as a 3 star review.

PERFECT! Exactly what I was looking for! Excellent quality!
This stand is PERFECT for giving me precision control over the distance between the object I am measuring and the Dino-Lite handheld microscope (which helps with focusing). It basically converts any Dino-Lite handheld microscope into a laboratory microscope! There is about 2 inches of clearance between the microscope and the platform, which is perfect for examining most types of small specimens. If you need more clearance than that, Dino-Lite also makes a LARGER precision stand: BigC MS35B Dino-Lite Tabletop Stand for AM-3xx/4xx Series MicroscopeI was very impressed by the high quality, all-metal construction of this stand. This stand is also great for safely holding my microscope on the back of my desk when not in use! Total desktop footprint is only 3"x4.5".

I really like it, but I'm not sure if I should have spent the money on it.
I love this for my Dino-Lite microscope. I would have given it a 5 star rating, but I think the price is just a little too expensive. Good construction and quality.

OK
Nice stand for the price used price I paid for it. I was looking for something a little more taller/more adjustment. I actually ordered a mini table tripod.

A MUST FOR A DINO-LITE MICROSCOPE
Holds the Dino-lite microscope steady. Makes it easy to adjust the microscope focus.

A solid,well made portable stand.
A great support unit for field work and travel with a USB microscope. Every bit as solid as the larger desk double stand. Feels heavy, doesn't wobble, and height knob adjusts smoothly, and it has good tension, it feels hydraulic, much like the larger models.
