Hard to tell if these work. Though when I wear them I have’t had any issues with biting insects. Worth buying in case they do. I’d always take some just in case. Lots in the bag and the scent last a long time.

Having seen these advertised on Facebook I was a bit skeptical but for the price decided they were worth a go! (If anything they’d look cute and match different outfits!) Last summer in France my extended family had gotten eaten alive by mosquitoes and it more or less left residual trauma… think blotchy legs resembling something out of an infection based horror movie. No one wanted that again. So I purchased these. For the entire 2 weeks, I wore one on my wrist and ankle. (Along with my usual ritual of soaking myself in skin so soft) and I did not get bitten once! How do I know they were effective? Apart from each night going on a mosquito killing spree in the room before bed. Everyone else got at least 2-3 bad bites—when they weren’t wearing their bracelets! Unbelievably impressed with this purchase and we will be stocking up again before any other holiday! Points to note: What I did notice was after a day or so, they started to lose their smell. I’m not entirely sure if this would lower the overall effectiveness over time, so to counter this, I rotated bracelets each day. I had a set of four, wore two and placed the used two back in the original sealed bag. This kept them fresh each day. Towards the end of the two weeks, there was barely any smell and if that did signal the bracelet becoming ineffective, it would be worth having two packs for longer trips. Advertising claims they are waterproof. This is a point we are not sure on. One dip in a pool and they smelt like chlorine. So we opted for the safe option to take them off if we went swimming and right back on after. They do smell exceptionally strong when you open them, which may irritate some people. But this was a small compromise and preferable to becoming a mosquito main course! Overall I’m really impressed with these and will definitely be purchasing in the future!

I am one of those people who, when sealed into a plastic box, doused in mosquito repellent, and then wearing an NBC suit will still come out bitten to death by mosquitos. I don't know what it is about my blood or sweat, but they home in on me like.. well.. flies to sugar. I was sat in a hotel room in spain once, and I watched a mosquito fly in through the window, curve in the air and just land straight on my leg. None of that usual back-and-forth zigzagging to triangulate, just BAM straight into the sucking mode. So I'm definitely lunch when I'm in a hot country. I hate spraying myself with all those chemicals though. Not only do they smell (and make me sneeze), but they itch, and some of them leave you sticky, especially if you sweat. So I wanted something else. These bangles are supposed to last 300 to 400 hours. I'd say they last about 48 to 72 hours at best. Beyond 72 hours, they barely smell at all. But in those 48 to 72 hours, I was pretty much pest free. Whenever I wore one on a limb, I wasn't bitten on that limb, or the other one. So I took to wearing one as an anklet and one as a bracelet. Once I did that, I wasn't bitten at all while I was wearing them, only when I took them off. So, four stars for being effective. I would assume that a normal human that isn't a giant mozzie lunch would be able to get away with a single bangle, and they may even last for an extra day with the reduced smell. Only lose one star for being effective for a lot less than the advertised time, but rather than docking two for being 10x over-hyped, the pack contains enough bangles to more than make up for it, so only losing one star. Can't complain, and I'll be buying them for my next trip abroad.

I can see from other reviews that these have worked for most people, unfortunately this was not the case with us. We bought two packs of these for our trip to Philippines, knowing that during this time of year there are a lot of mosquitoes. Whilst they seemed to work for the first few days in the city, once we reached a more rural area they just seemed to stop working. We even got bites around the bands even though we all wore two, on the wrist and ankle as suggested. Perhaps if you are just visiting a city these might work really well, but not as much in the countryside. Also be wary about using light coloured towels or clothing with these as the colours will bleed and stain. The packaging says the scent lasts for 20 days, but we found it lasted for maybe 4 or 5 days at most. You may need to get someone to tie these for you as doing it yourself can be a bit fiddly. Whilst I love the idea and aesthetics of these, unfortunately they did not work as well as we hoped.

Wore one on wrist and one on ankle and got no bites on a 1 week Mediterranean holiday in August. If you are frequently in and out of the pool amd sea then they might only last 2 or 3 days but otherwise can imagine they would last a week. They smell lovely, although 1 child not keen. I loved the smell of them, very fresh. I did add a couple of sprays of a light repellant on arms and legs in the evenings but nowhere near how much I usually apply. Will definitely re-purchase. It would be good if they offered a pack with subtle colours and none of the more garish pinks/reds/purples. I'd prefer to buy a pack of cream, brown, tan, white and black ones.

Have worn a couple now but have still been bitten. Even a couple of inches from the product. Not strong enough or powerful enough to repel mosquitoes.

Absolutely useless. They didn't me from getting bitten. Spend your money on skin spray instead. They are now in the garbage....
