We bought this folding walking frame for my mother-in-law as it was such hard work to fit the standard NHS gutter frame in the boot of the car (along with her wheelchair) when we took her out. Using this frame we can now transfer her easily from her wheelchair into the car an then pack the frame into the boot of the car without having to totally rearrange the whole car.It arrived in pieces but was very easy to set up as the pieces locked together using a simple twist mechanism where the peg comes out of the appropriate hole for the person's height. Mother-in-law is under 5 foot and we set it up on the lowest settings for her.The folding mechanism is simple but effective and the frame is very safe and sturdy once it is opened up properly.The ski rear feet are very effective and seem to cope reasonably well with loose gravel and short compact grass as well as tiled floors (in the disabled toilets).She has only used it to walk short distances as that is her physical limit but she says it is just as easy to use as her regular NHS standard issue gutter frame.I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is struggling to fit a gutter frame in their car - we used a Nissan Qashqai; this frame has made outings much easier to organise.
