The best of the 940 series knives
Over the last twenty years I've owned and carried, edc, all the 940 variations including the pricey carabon fiber one. This G10 handled knife is the best one of the bunch. It's soft enough to actually sharpen, holds and edge very well and opens and closes like they all do, with a flick of the wrist. But this one weighs the right amount to balance at the pin and it is quick and predictable. Also, the G10 feels nicer than the other materials. This is the one you want, if you want knife to cut things with and to carry everywhere. Just spend the money and buy it. The spear blade is more accurate, than the modified tanto or whatever the other one's called.

Best Kife Purchase I've Ever Made
I have been in the market for a new knife for a few months and didn't want to drop close to $200 until I found the perfect knife. I wanted a slim knife with a reasonable blade over 3", a sturdy handle and build, and a solid steel, this is it! The blade is super sharp and the S30V steel doesn't require frequent sharpening like some previous knives I've owned. You can tell every inch of this knife is quality crafted and Benchmade really sets the benchmark. They also have great customer service. I called them to request a deep pocket carry clip and they sent me one at no charge. My previous everyday carry was a SOG Flash and this is definitely a huge step up.

Best EDC so far
The BM 940S-2, is my current and foreseeable future EDC. I'm not a high end knife snob who equates the amount spent with quality, but this knife delivers. Action and lock up are excellent. Grind may be a smidge off when viewed from tip but very minor. Weight, height of ride in front pocket, and compact size for carry in relation to blade length, all add up to a great knife. Blade geometry gives greater strength at tip than drop points while delivering familiar utility and sharpening as opposed to conventional tanto. Blade came shaving sharp and after over a month of daily carry (light actual use), has not required any touch up to retain that edge. Is it a chunk to drop on a knife? Yes, but in MHO, worth it.

Best all-around edc knife, hands down!
I have 15-20 mid to high end knives ($100-$200), and the Benchmade 940-2 is now my favorite. It is incredibly light for how large the blade is, but doesn’t sacrifice how it feels in your hand. It’s barely noticeable in the pocket too. The reverse tanto S30V blade, which came perfectly centered and razor sharp, is so versatile in design since it has a nice tip and a generous belly. Before this knife, my primary edcs were the PM2, Para 3, Manix 2 lightweight, Yojimbo 2, ZT 0350, and the Kershaw/Emerson CQC-6. Now I can’t see carrying any of those all that often! You won’t regret buying this knife!

The 940-2 is quite possibly one of my favorites
At first sight, I was concerned that it was smaller than I expected. Then I began to open and close it over and over. The more I used it, the more I began to fall in love with it. The shape and style of the blade is eye catching and perfect for my everyday use. The slender design

My fault
I thought I wanted the partially serated blade. It was a mistake. Other than that it's an okay knife. Rides nice in the pocket feels good in hand.

Benchmade quality, great price
Great knife. I love this blade type, the fit an finish is perfect. Blade was perfectly centered, extreemly sharp, the finish is beautiful and I received this in a Benchmade box with LifeSharp service and warranty. If you are willing to spend this much on a pocket knife rest assured this vendor is selling you the real deal.
